Robin Swinkels (born April 6, 1989) is a Dutch chess grandmaster. Chess career In July 2008, he played an underwater chess match against Hans Böhm as part of the Curaçao Chess Festival. Chess Bundesliga
The term Chess Bundesliga (german: Schach-Bundesliga) normally refers to the premier league of team chess in Germany established in 1980. It is arguably the strongest league of its kind and attracts many high-rated grandmasters. Austria also has a Bundesliga for chess, usually described as the Bundesliga OST (for Österreich). Format Sixteen teams face each other in a single round robin format, each match-day team formed of eight players. The season runs between October and April. Max Warmerdam
Max Warmerdam (born 30 March 2000) is a Dutch chess grandmaster. Chess career Warmerdam earned his FIDE master title in 2015, followed by the international master title in 2018. After qualifying through the "top nine-round event" at the 2019 Tata Steel Chess Tournament, Warmerdam was invited to compete at the Tata Steel Challengers in 2020. He placed 12th with 4½/13 (+2–6=5). During the tournament, he defeated the eventual winner David Antón Guijarro with the black pieces. Warmerdam is coached by Loek van Wely. From 3 to 7 January 2021, Warmerdam participated in the Vergani Cup. He scored 7/9 to take first place, half-a-point clear of the rest of the field. In this process, he earned his third grandmaster norm. Later in January, he acted as to Jorden van Foreest in the 83rd Tata Steel Masters. The Dutch Chess Championship was officially established in 1909, although unofficial champions stretch back to the 1870s. Early years : Official championships The official championship was established in 1909 as a biennial, twelve-player, round-robin tournament. As of 1970, the top five finishers were seeded into the next championship, one player was nominated by the Selection Committee and six came from preliminary qualifying tournaments. Three regional qualifying tournaments of eight to twelve players each were held over four weekends. Grandmasters were not required to qualify to play in the championship.. Soumya Swaminathan (born 1989) is a chess player holding the title of International Master (IM) and Woman Grandmaster (WGM) from India. She won the World Junior Chess Championship, World Junior Girls' Championship 2009 held in Puerto Madryn, Argentina edging out on tiebreak score. She is also a twice women's champion of Ukraine (2012, 2013), World Team and European Team champion with Ukraine in 2013. Muzychuk has experienced multiple successes with Ukraine at the Women's Chess Olympiad winning gold in 2022, silver in 2018 and bronze in 2012, 2014 and 2016.
