Roberto Rodríguez Ruelas (Mexico City, 1909-1995) was a Mexican film director. Brothers Roberto and Joselito Rodríguez were working in Hollywood as sound engineers in 1931 when Mexican President Pascual Ortiz Rubio, on an official visit to the city of Los Angeles, came to hear of their work and personally invited them to return to Mexico to film a sound-movie using the brothers' sound system - the result was the film Santa, 1932. Pascual Ortiz Rubio
Pascual Ortiz Rubio (; 10 March 1877 – 4 November 1963) was a first Mexican President of Mexico from 1930 to 1932. He was one of three Mexican presidents to serve out the six-year term (1928–1934) of assassinated president-elect Álvaro Obregón, while former president Plutarco Elías Calles retained power in a period known as the Maximato. Calles was so blatantly in control of the government that Ortiz Rubio resigned the presidency in protest in September 1932. Donald Reed (born Ernesto Avila Guillen; July 23, 1901 – February 28, 1973) was a Mexican film actor, and later, Beverly Hills video consultant. He appeared in more than 40 films between 1925 and 1940. Biography Reed was born in Mexico City as Ernesto Avila Guillen, the son of Alberto Guillen, a shoe merchant.
