Roberto Colciago
Roberto Colciago (born 4 April 1968) is a racing driver from Saronno, Italy. He has spent most of his career in touring car racing – first in Super Touring and then in Super 2000 – followed by the World Touring Car Championship and currently races in the TCR International series. His major successes include two Swedish Touring Car Championship drivers' titles and the Italian Touring Car Championship title. He is married, with one daughter. Career history After a period in karting, Colciago entered the Italian Formula Three Championship at the age of 19. He was classified in 5th position in the 1987 standings, with one race win in his rookie season, and went on to win the title in 1990. From there, he progressed to the FIA Formula 3000 International Championship, but returned to Italian F3 in 1992 and then spent two further seasons in the German F3 Championship. 1995 brought Colciago into touring cars. Saronno
Saronno (; lmo, Saronn ) is a ''comune'' of Lombardy, Italy, in the province of Varese. It received the honorary title of city with a presidential decree in 1960. 2002 Swedish Touring Car Championship Season
The 2002 Swedish Touring Car Championship season was the 7th Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) season. >Nine racing weekends at four different circuits were held in total; each round comprising two races, with the exception of Round 4 at Falkenberg (4 races), making an eighteen-round competition in total. 2006 Italian Superturismo Championship Season
The 2006 Campionato Italiano Superturismo Season was the second season of the Italian Superturismo Championship since its recreation in 2005 (at the same time as the ETCC, the promoted Italian championship, was turned into the WTCC). It had several well-known contenders, such as Alessandro Zanardi, Emanuele Naspetti and retired ski-racer Kristian Ghedina. Italia Superturismo Championship
The Italian Superturismo Championship (Campionato Italiano Superturismo) is Italy's national motorsport series for touring cars. It was established in 1987 and its drivers' title has been held by such notable drivers as Le Mans winner Emanuele Pirro and two-time Champ Car champion Alex Zanardi. The 1991 Formula 3000 International Championship was the seventh season of Formula 3000 in Europe. Christian Fittipaldi won the championship after ten rounds. 1997 Italian Superturismo Championship
The 1997 Italian Superturismo Championship was the eleventh edition of the Italian Superturismo Championship. The season began in Monza on 20 April and finished in Vallelunga on 12 October, after ten rounds. Emanuele Naspetti and his BMW 320i dominated since the begin of the season achieving an impressive score of 18 podiums (10 victories, 7 seconds and 1 third place) on a total of 20 races. Naspetti lead the standing since the first round and he won the championship after the first race of 8th round in Varano de Melegari with still 5 races to do; the BMW won the constructors' championship, while Massimo Pigoli took the privateers' trophy in his BMW 320i. The 1998 Italian Superturismo Championship was the twelfth edition of the Italian Superturismo Championship. The season began in Autodromo del Levante, Binetto on 17 May and finished in ACI Vallelunga Circuit, Vallelunga on 4 October, after ten rounds. Actually the season 1998 started months before into the court between the 2 promoters Salerno Corse (the historical promoter of the serie since 1987) and Sponsor Service who was supported by the 3 manufactures (Alfa, Audi, BMW). After a long discussion after the championship were already started, it was declared that Sponsor Service were the new promoter for the next 3 years. The first change of Sponsor Service was to pass from the smaller TMC channel to Italian state channel RAI TV. The idea of the new promoter (and manufactures too) was that if the races were on RAI Channel before the start of f1, there would have been better results in term of audience.
