Robert T. Kuhn
Robert T. Kuhn (born April 5, 1937) was the 11th president of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS), having held that office from March to August 2001. He currently serves as the East-Southeast Region Vice President of the LCMS. Prior to serving as synodical president, Kuhn served as pastor of various congregations, president of the Central Illinois District of the LCMS from 1989 to 1995, and First Vice President of the LCMS from September 1995 through March 2001. Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod
The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), also known as the Missouri Synod, is a traditional, confessional Lutheran denomination in the United States. With 1.8 million members, it is the second-largest Lutheran body in the United States. The LCMS was organized in 1847 at a meeting in Chicago, Illinois, as the German Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States (german: Die Deutsche Evangelisch-Lutherische Synode von Missouri, Ohio und andern Staaten), a name which partially reflected the geographic locations of the founding congregations. The LCMS has congregations in all 50 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces, but over half of its members are located in the Midwest. It is a member of the International Lutheran Council and is in altar and pulpit fellowship with most of that group's members. Oviedo ( ) is a city in Seminole County, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 33,342, representing an increase of 7,026 (26.7%) from the 26,316 counted in the 2000 Census.
