Robert Nation
Robert Nation is a Canadian audio engineer and producer as well as co-owner of EMAC Recording Studios in London, Ontario. Early life Robert was born and raised on the West Island of Montreal where he attended Dorval High School. Robert's father, Ernie Nation, was the Head of Finance for RCA Records. In 1972, Ernie was transferred to Toronto, Ontario, when RCA's record division was relocated. While in his teens, Robert started mixing live sound for local bands in Toronto and landed himself a gig at the offices of RCA Records. After taking a couple of small recording courses, Robert wanted to further his education in recording engineering and music production and moved to London, Ontario where he completed a 3-year diploma in the Music Industry Arts program at Fanshawe College. An audio engineer (also known as a sound engineer or recording engineer) helps to produce a recording or a live performance, balancing and adjusting sound sources using equalization, dynamics processing and audio effects, mixing, reproduction, and reinforcement of sound. ''Spit'' is the debut studio album by Canadian heavy metal band Kittie, released on January 11, 2000 by both NG Records and Artemis Records. Kittie was formed in 1996 and got signed by NG Records after the band approached Jake Weiner, the record label's second-in-command. After seeing Kittie play live, Weiner signed the group to NG during the summer of 1999. NG was then acquired by Artemis Records toward the end of 1999 and Kittie recorded ''Spit'' at EMAC Studios in London, Ontario during the summer of 1999. ''Spit'' was finished in August 1999, and radio specialty shows and the music press supported the album. Before its release, Kittie was featured in an '' MTV News 1515'' report. Kittie
Kittie is a Canadian Heavy metal music, heavy metal band formed in London, Ontario in 1996. All of their material has been released through independent record labels, which to date includes six studio albums, one video album, four extended plays, thirteen singles, and thirteen music videos. "Kittie" was chosen as the band name because the name "seemed contradictory." Kittie formed in 1996 when Fallon Bowman and Mercedes Lander met in gym class. Morgan Lander became the lead vocalist and one of Kittie's guitarists and Tanya Candler completed the band's lineup on bass. Corteo is a Cirque du Soleil touring production that premiered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on April 21, 2005. As of May 24, 2005, Cirque du Soleil had broken its record of spectators for the première location in Montreal; more than 200,000 people had viewed the production, far outpacing the prior record of 180,000 tickets sold for ''Varekai'' during its première.
