Robert Mitchell (19 May 1820 – 16 May 1873) was an English engraver, son of the engraver James Mitchell. He died at Bromley, Kent. Works Mitchell engraved in mezzotint ''Tapageur, a fashionable Member of the Canine Society'', after Sir Edwin Landseer (1852) and ''The Parish Beauty'' (1853) and ''The Pastor's Pet'', a pair after Alfred Rankley (1854). In the mixed style he engraved ''The Happy Mothers'' and ''The Startled Twins'', a pair after Richard Ansdell, R.A. (1850), and ''Christ walking on the Sea'', after Robert Scott Lauder (1854). Dr Robert Lyell Mitchell FRSE FRSC (3 June 1910 – 7 February 1982) was a 20th-century Scottish chemist and mountaineer. He was an expert on trace elements in soil and their effect on grazing animals, and served as the Director of the Macaulay Institute for Soil Science. He was simply called Bob Mitchell. Life He was born in Edinburgh on 3 June 1910 the son of David Hay Lyell Mitchell, an engineer based at Bangour Hospital. He was educated at Bathgate Academy then studied sciene at the University of Edinburgh graduating with a BSc in 1931. He undertook postgraduate studies in chemistry first at the University of Aberdeen gaining a PhD in 1934, and then the Technische Hochschule in Zurich in Switzerland, where he developed a passion for alpine climbing. Robert Menzies Mitchell (October 28, 1865 – February 6, 1932) was a physician and political figure in Saskatchewan, Canada. He represented Weyburn in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 1908 to 1919 as a Liberal. Biography He was born in Pickering, Canada West, the son of James Mitchell and Elizabeth Rogers, and was educated in Orangeville and at Trinity University in Toronto, where he received an M.D. in 1892. Robert Mitchell (speed Skater)
Robert Mitchell (9 June 1972 – 27 August 2022) was a British short track speed skater. He competed in the men's 5000 metre relay event at the 1998 Winter Olympics. Mitchell had a distinguished career as a speed skater, achieving success at the junior, senior, and masters levels. He first took an interest in the sport at the age of seven after watching leading racers taking part in an event in Scotland and subsequently joined the Peterborough Ice Racing Club at the age of 13. In 1986 he won the East of England Junior Championship and retained the title the following year. In 1988, at the age of 15, he won an international event at Den Haag in the Netherlands. Mitchell’s brother Graeme was also a competitive speed skater and member of the Peterborough club. The siblings competed against each other at the 1986 British Championships.
