Robert Maxson
Robert Clinton Maxson (born May 8, 1936) is an American academic administrator who has served as president of several institutions of higher education. He was most recently (2008–10) president of Sierra Nevada College, a private, liberal arts college in Incline Village, Nevada. Much of his previous leadership work was in public, urban universities in the western United States. He was president of the University of Houston–Victoria from 1978 to 1982, president of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas from 1984 to 1994 and president of California State University, Long Beach, from June 1994 until January 2006. He was succeeded there by F. King Alexander. Maxson was ultimately president of Sierra Nevada College from 2007 to 2010, until he retired. Sierra Nevada College
Sierra Nevada University (SNU) was a private university in Incline Village, Nevada in the Sierra Nevada (U.S.), Sierras. In 2022 it became University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe. Founded in 1969, Sierra Nevada College was accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Prior to 2020, the institution was known as Sierra Nevada College. In the summer of 2019, Dr. Ed Zschau became the interim president of Sierra Nevada University and, among other initiatives, spearheaded the change in the institution's name. It was announced in July 2021 that the Sierra Nevada University is being merged into the University of Nevada Reno over a period of years. Incline Village, Nevada
Incline Village is a census-designated place (CDP) on the north shore of Lake Tahoe in Washoe County, Nevada, United States. The population was 8,777 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Reno− Sparks Metropolitan Statistical Area. Until the 2010 census, the CDP Crystal Bay, Nevada was counted jointly with Incline Village. Sierra Nevada University's main campus is located in Incline Village. The University of Houston–Victoria (UHV) is a public university in Victoria, Texas. It is part of the University of Houston System. Its campus spans in Victoria with a satellite location at UHV Katy. Founded in 1971, UHV has an enrollment of over 4,300 students.
