Robert Nugent Lynch (born May 27, 1941) is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church, who served as bishop of the Diocese of St. Petersburg in Florida from 1996 to 2016. Biography Early life Robert Lynch was born on May 27, 1941, in Charleston, West Virginia. He grew up in Montgomery, West Virginia, to an Irish-American family that expected him to become a priest. Lynch soon entered the Pontifical College Josephinum. However, he found the College to be a dark, rigid place with strict rules and limited communication with his family. Eventually, Lynch dropped out and started working as an English teacher. Lynch's next job was as a lobbyist in Washington, D.C., representing the Ohio Catholic Conference at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). His roommates were priests; their positive actions inspired him to reconsider the priesthood. Robert Emmett "Bobby" Lynch (July 30, 1878May 1, 1959) was an American baseball player and manager, salesman, and Democratic politician from Green Bay, Wisconsin. He represented Green Bay for ten terms as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, serving from 1933 to 1937, and then from 1943 to 1959. Early life and baseball career Robert E. Lynch was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1878, to an Irish Catholic family. Bob Lynch (18 March 1935 – 2 October 1982) was an Irish folk musician from Dublin. He first became notable as a member of The Dubliners from 1964 to 1965 until he left to pursue a solo career in North America. Early life Bob joined The Dubliners in 1964 with John Sheahan after meeting with Ronnie Drew, the front man of the group. Not long after, Luke Kelly left the group for a year to work in England, so the two new members joined full-time. Lynch played the acoustic guitar An acoustic guitar is a musical instrument in the string family. Bob Lynch (footballer)
Bob Lynch (born 15 April 1944) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL). A centreman, Lynch started out at Melbourne where he played reserves football. He was picked up by Fitzroy in 1965 and played the first nine games of the 1965 VFL season, kicking his only goal in their loss to North Melbourne at Brunswick Street. He was then sent to the reserves to improve his unreliable disposal but wasn't able to make his way back into the seniors. Lynch spent the rest of the 1960s with New Norfolk in Tasmania. He represented Tasmania at the 1969 Adelaide Carnival.
