Robert Lee (golfer)
Robert Lee (born 12 October 1961) is an English professional golfer and television presenter. Lee was born in London. He turned professional in 1982 and was in his prime from 1985 to 1987, finishing in the top thirty of the European Tour Order of Merit each of those years. He twice shot 27 for nine holes on the tour, first at the 1985 Monte Carlo Open, and again two years later at the 1987 Portuguese Open. He went on to win the latter, one of his two victories on the European Tour. He also seriously competed for the 1985 Open Championship in the opening rounds. He was in second place after the first round and only two back after the second round. He faded over the weekend but picked up a top-25 finish. From the late 1980s Lee's form dipped, and he spent the latter half of the 1990s going back and forth between the second-tier Challenge Tour and the main European Tour. Eduardo Romero
Eduardo Alejandro Romero (17 July 1954 – 13 February 2022) was an Argentine professional golfer. Nicknamed "El Gato" ("The Cat"), he won over 80 professional tournaments around the world, including eight on the European Tour and five on the Champions Tour, with two senior majors; he also won over 50 times in South America and was a member of the Argentine team at the World Cup on 14 occasions. Ronan Rafferty
Ronan Patrick Rafferty (born 13 January 1964) is a Northern Irish professional golfer who formerly played on the European Tour. He was the leading European player of 1989. Early life Rafferty was born in Newry, Northern Ireland. He won the Boys Amateur Championship aged 15, qualified for the Open Championship at age 16, and played in the 1981 Walker Cup aged 17. He tied for first place with Peter McEvoy in the 1980 English Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship for the Brabazon Trophy. According to Rafferty, as an amateur he and future pro Philip Walton had the best handicaps in the country. Miguel Ángel Martín (born 2 May 1962) is a Spanish professional golfer. Professional career Martín was born in Huelva. He started out as a caddie and turned professional in 1981. He has been a member of the European Tour for more than twenty seasons, and in 2005 he became the first Continental European golfer to make 500 appearances on the tour. He also attempted to make the PGA Tour in 1988. He was one of the 1988 PGA Tour Qualifying School graduates. Horacio Carbonetti
Horacio Carbonetti (born 17 November 1947) is an Argentine professional golfer. He is the brother of golfer Luis Carbonetti. Carbonetti was born in Río Cuarto, Córdoba. He won multiple amateur tournaments, mostly in Argentina. In 1976, he lost by playoff the Simon Bolivar Cup Professional Championship in Venezuela. He turned professional in 1977. In his debut tournament as a professional, Carbonetti was second at the Metropolitan Open behind Florentino Molina in 1977. In 1980, he shot a 64 in the second round of The Open Championship, at Muirfield, setting a new course record. The Brazil Open or Aberto do Brasil is an annual golf tournament held in Brazil. It was founded in 1945 and was an event on the Tour de las Américas on several occasions, most recently in 2005. It is now an event on PGA Tour Latinoamérica. Michael John Miller (born 22 April 1951) is a Scottish professional golfer. Miller was born in Lenzie, East Dunbartonshire, near Glasgow. He turned professional in 1978 at a relatively late age, and was the European Tour's Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year in 1979. That year he lost a playoff to Mark James at the Welsh Golf Classic. He never came closer than that to winning a European Tour event, though he finished second in the 1983 Kronenbourg Open. The Kenya Open, titled as the Magical Kenya Open for sponsorship reasons, is a professional golf tournament in Kenya founded in 1967. History The Kenya Open was an associate event on the Far East Circuit in 1967 and 1968, after which it became a cornerstone of the emerging Safari Circuit – a collection of tournaments initially in Kenya and Zambia, and then later in Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Zimbabwe. The European Tour, who had taken over running of the Safari Tour in the late 1970s, began to expand globally through the 1980s and those events formally became part of the second tier Challenge Tour in 1991. Richard Bland (golfer)
Richard Bland (born 3 February 1973) is an English professional golfer. Career Bland was born in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. He turned professional in 1996 and reached the final stage of the European Tour's qualifying school in 1997 to gain his card on Europe's second tier Challenge Tour for 1998. In 2001 he won for the first time, at the season ending Challenge Tour Grand Final. The win elevated him in the rankings sufficiently to gain a place on the European Tour for 2002.
