Robert J. Meyer (February 9, 1935 – July 14, 1984) was an American developer and politician who served in the New Jersey General Assembly from the 8th Legislative District from 1982 until his death in 1984. A resident of Medford, New Jersey, he died of a heart attack on July 14, 1984, in Mount Holly, New Jersey at age 49. New Jersey General Assembly
The New Jersey General Assembly is the lower house of the New Jersey Legislature. Since the election of 1967 (1968 Session), the Assembly has consisted of 80 members. Two members are elected from each of New Jersey's 40 legislative districts for a term of two years, each representing districts with average populations of 232,225 (2020 figures), with deviation in each district not exceeding 3.21% above and below that average. To be eligible to run, a potential candidate must be at least 21 years of age, and must have lived in their district for at least one year prior to the election, and have lived in the state of New Jersey for two years. They also must be residents of their districts. Membership in the Assembly is considered a part-time job, and many members have employment in addition to their legislative work. Hugh James Saxton (born January 22, 1943) is an American politician from New Jersey. A member of the Republican Party (United States), Republican Party, he represented parts of Burlington County, New Jersey, Burlington, Ocean County, New Jersey, Ocean, and Camden County, New Jersey, Camden counties in the United States House of Representatives from 1984 to 2009. Before entering Congress, he served in the New Jersey Senate and the New Jersey General Assembly. Saxton is currently a Director Emeritus on the board of New Jersey-based energy equipment and systems company Holtec International. Mount Holly is a township that is the county seat of Burlington County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is an eastern suburb of Philadelphia, the nation's sixth largest city as of 2020, As of the 2020 U.S. census, the township's population was 9,981.
