Sir Robert Howard (January 1626 – 3 September 1698) was an English playwright and politician. He fought for the Royalist cause in the English Civil War. Life He was born the 6th son of Thomas Howard, 1st Earl of Berkshire and his wife Elizabeth. As the 18-year-old son of a Royalist family, he fought at the battle of Cropredy Bridge and was knighted for the bravery he showed there. In the years after the English Civil War his royalist sympathies led to his imprisonment at Windsor Castle in 1658. After the Restoration, he quickly rose to prominence in political life, with several appointments to posts which brought him influence and money. He was Member of Parliament for Stockbridge in the Cavalier Parliament (1661 to 1679) and for Castle Rising (1679 to 1681 and 1689 to 1698), and believed in a balance of parliament and monarchy. Robert Howard (born July 8, 1996) is an American former competitive Swimming (sport), swimmer who specialized in the sprint Freestyle swimming, freestyle events. He represented the DC Trident in the International Swimming League. Early life Robert Howard was born July 8, 1996, in Alexander City, Alabama, as the son of Scott and Beverly and Bob Howard. Howard attended Benjamin Russell High School and swam for Auburn Aquatics. Robert Rice Howard (known as "Nosey Bob" Howard) (''c''. March 1832 – 3 February 1906) was an Australian executioner. He was employed as a hangman for the colony of New South Wales from 1875, initially as an assistant hangman. Howard held the position of senior executioner from 1877 until he retired in 1904. Throughout a career spanning twenty-eight years, Robert Howard assisted or supervised the execution of sixty-two persons in New South Wales. Howard had a facial disfigurement, resulting in the loss of his nose, that occurred while working as a cabman in the mid-1870s. The murder of Hannah Williams was an English case in which a 14-year-old schoolgirl, Hannah Williams (May 1986 – c. 21 April 2001), was murdered after going missing during a shopping trip on 21 April 2001. Sir Robert Howard (1385—1436), Knight, of Stoke by Nayland, Suffolk, was an English nobleman, the eldest son of John Howard (c. 1366 - 1437), of Wiggenhall and East Winch, Norfolk, by the latter's second wife, Alice Tendring. Alice was also an heiress, although not to the same degree as John Howard's first wife, Lady Plaiz, who had brought him estates worth over £400 per annum. They had two sons; Robert was the elder. His younger brother, Henry Howard (d. 1446) was later murdered by retainers of John, Baron Scrope of Masham, after his parents and brother had died. Bobby Allen Howard (born June 1, 1964) is a former American football running back. He played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1986–1988. Howard was a 3-sport standout at Langley High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
