Robert Greene (1558–1592) was an English author popular in his day, and now best known for a posthumous pamphlet attributed to him, '' Greene's Groats-Worth of Witte, bought with a million of Repentance'', widely believed to contain an attack on William Shakespeare. Robert Greene was a popular Elizabethan dramatist and pamphleteer known for his negative critiques of his colleagues. He is said to have been born in Norwich. He attended Cambridge where he received a BA in 1580, and an M.A. in 1583 before moving to London, where he arguably became the first professional author in England. Greene was prolific and published in many genres including romances, plays and autobiography. Family According to the author Brenda Richardson, the "chief problem" in compiling a biography of Robert Greene was his name. Robert Greene (philosopher)
Robert Greene (1678?–1730), was an English philosopher. Early life Greene, the son of Robert Greene, a mercer of Tamworth, Staffordshire, by his wife Mary Pretty of Fazeley, was born about 1678. His father, who according to the son was a repository of all the Christian virtues, died while Greene was a boy, and it was through the generosity of his uncle, John Pretty, rector of Farley, Hampshire, that he was sent to Clare Hall, Cambridge. He graduated B.A. 1699, and M.A. 1703. He became a fellow and tutor of his college and took orders. Career and works In 1711 he published 'A Demonstration of the Truth and Divinity of the Christian Religion,' and in the following year 'The Principles of Natural Philosophy, in which is shown the insufficiency of the present systems to give us any just account of that science.' Bob Greene is a New Hampshire Republican politician. Early life and education Greene was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Wisconsin and later earned his bachelor's degree from Lawrence University and his master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado. Career Greene served in the United States Air Force from 1987 to 2007 and was stationed at Chanute Air Force Base, Scott Air Force Base, Ramstein Air Base, and Hanscom Air Force Base. After retiring from the Air Force, Greene worked for Raytheon Technologies and BAE Systems, where he retired in 2019. Robert Everist Greene (born 1943) is an American mathematician at UCLA. Greene was an undergraduate at Michigan State University and a Putnam Fellow in 1963. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley in 1969. Robert Greene Sr. (April 16, 1918 – June 21, 2010) was an American Makah elder. Greene was the oldest living Makah man and the second-to-last surviving Makah veteran of World War II at the time of his death in 2010. He was a fluent speaker of the Makah language, an indigenous language spoken by the Makah people of Washington state.
