The ''Abbotsford News'' is a Canadian community newspaper in Abbotsford, British Columbia published by Black Press. ''The News'' publishes more than 40,000 copies two times a week distributed across Abbotsford and also the adjacent municipality of Mission. ''The News'' claims to be one of the first community newspapers in the province due to its roots from the ''Abbotsford Post'' established in 1906 by Mission publisher John A. Bates. The Post was sold in 1922 and changed its name to ''Abbotsford, Sumas and Matsqui News''. Other sales to new owners occurred in 1938 and 1962. Black Press purchased The News in 1997. Abbotsford Times ''The News'' competed against the ''Abbotsford Times'' until Black Press purchased ''the Times'' from Glacier Media and announced in December 2013 that it would cease publishing ''the Times'' due to revenue losses and disinterest in staff at ''the Times'' transferring to Black Press. ''Firebird 2015 AD'' is a 1981 Canadian science fiction film directed by David M. Robertson and starring Darren McGavin and Doug McClure. Plot In the year 2015, the US government outlaws the distribution of gasoline to the public, reserving it only for the politicians, the Military and law enforcement. While it is implied this is due to a fuel shortage, later dialogue rebuffs this stating that gasoline is in abundance. Civilians are also banned from owning or using any form of motor vehicle, and those that do are referred to as Burners, and it is shown that this is a form of rebellion. ''The Peterborough Examiner'' is a newspaper that services Peterborough, Ontario and area. The paper started circulation in 1847, and is currently owned by Torstar and operated by its Metroland division. Between 1942 and 1955, it was edited by Canadian man of letters Robertson Davies, whose unique three-paragraph editorial style won several awards. Davies remained owner and publisher of the ''Examiner'' and Ralph Hancox the editor until 1967, when it was sold to the Thomson chain of newspapers. Gemini Award
The Gemini Awards were awards given by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television between 1986–2011 to recognize the achievements of Canada's television industry. The Gemini Awards are analogous to the Emmy Awards given in the United States and the BAFTA Television Awards in the United Kingdom. First held in 1986 to replace the ACTRA Award, the ceremony celebrated Canadian television productions with awards in 87 categories, along with other special awards such as lifetime achievement awards. The Academy had previously presented the one-off Bijou Awards in 1981, inclusive of some television productions. ''The Twilight Zone'' is an anthology television series which was constructed from September 27, 1985 to April 15, 1989. It is the first of three revivals of Rod Serling's acclaimed 1959–64 television series, and like the original it featured a variety of speculative fiction, commonly containing characters from a seemingly normal world stumbling into paranormal circumstances. Unlike the original, however, most episodes contained multiple self-contained stories instead of just one. The voice-over narrations were still present, but were not a regular feature as they were in the original series; some episodes had only an opening narration, some had only a closing narration, and some had no narration at all.
