Robert Fleming is an American journalist and writer of erotic fiction and horror fiction. He is also a contributing editor for '' Black Issues Book Review''. He began writing in the early 1970s while studying full-time for a degree in psychology at a local college. His first writing job was in 1977 as an associate editor at ''Encore Magazine'', a pioneering black newsmagazine that dealt with current events, and hard journalism. His writings included investigative reports and it was one such investigation—about the life of rural black farmers in the Deep South—that brought Fleming notice and led to a scholarship to Columbia University’s School of Journalism. After leaving the School of Journalism, he worked with former CBS News president Fred Friendly, former boss of the legendary Edward R. Robert Fleming The Elder
Robert Fleming the elder (1630 – 25 July 1694) was a Scottish Presbyterian Minister. Following the Restoration of King Charles II, he declined to accept the authority of the newly imposed bishops in the Kirk. He was therefore ejected as minister at Cambuslang. For the next ten years he remained in Scotland, preaching as he had opportunity. In 1669 he published the first part of ''Fulfilling of the Scripture'' in Rotterdam; it was later expanded to 3 parts and it is for this work and other treatises that Fleming is chiefly remembered. On 3 September 1672 he declined indulgence at Kilwinning, disobeyed a citation of the Privy Council, and fled to London, where his Scottish speech somewhat marred his usefulness. On 30 December 1677 he was admitted colleague to John Hog, minister of the Scots Kirk, Rotterdam. After the Revolution he might have been restored to Cambuslang, but preferred to remain in Holland. Robert Flemming (died 1456), was dean of Lincoln. Background Robert Flemming, born in the diocese of York, was likely an illegitimate son of Robert Flemming, esquire, of Wath, near Ripon (d.1459). His aunt, Cecily Fleming, married, in 1407, Robert Waterton, ' Henry IV's esquire and right-hand man'. His uncle, Richard Fleming (d.1431), was Bishop of Lincoln and the founder of Lincoln College, Oxford. He was probably connected with the earlier days of the college, the foundation of which was left by his uncle in an incomplete and unfinished state. At any rate, he displayed afterwards his care for this society by some valuable presents. Rob Fleming is a Canadian politician who represents the riding of Victoria-Swan Lake in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia. From July 2017 to November 2020, during the 41st Parliament, he was the Minister of Education. Robert Alexander Fleming FRSE (1862-1947) was a Scottish pathologist and medical author who served as President of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh 1927–29. Life He was born in Dundee the son of Emma Lyle and Robert Whillans Fleming, a local merchant. He was educated at Larchfield Academy and Craigmount School. He then went to the University of Edinburgh to study medicine, graduating with an MA in 1884 and MB CB in 1888. He then became senior lecturer in Clinical Medicine at the various Edinburgh medical colleges and university and senior surgeon at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. In 1900 he was living at 10 Chester Street in Edinburgh's West End. In 1906 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Rev Robert Fleming (the younger) (1660–1716) was a Scottish presbyterian minister, of liberal views, known as an early supporter of the principle of non-subscription to the Westminster Confession, and as an apocalyptic writer. Life The son of Rev Robert Fleming, he was born in the manse at Cambuslang in Lanarkshire in 1660. His early education was at the school of his uncle Rev John Sinclair, minister of Ormiston, Haddingtonshire. In 1679 his father took him to Holland, where he studied at the universities of Leyden and Utrecht. On 9 February 1688 he was privately ordained by Scottish ministers in Holland, without special charge. Fleming moved to England, and was domestic chaplain in a private family for about four years. In 1692 he accepted a call to the pastorate of the English presbyterian congregation at Leyden. Robert Loren Fleming (born November 5, 1956) is an American comic book writer. He is best known as the co-creator of '' Thriller'' with Trevor Von Eeden and for his collaborations with Keith Giffen. Career Robert Loren Fleming worked for DC Comics initially as a proofreader and later as a writer. His first published comics story was "String-Out" in ''House of Mystery'' #316 (May 1983). He and artist Trevor Von Eeden created '' Thriller'' in 1983. Fleming left the series as of its seventh issue due to difficulties with DC Comics' management. Robert James Berkeley Fleming (November 12, 1921 – November 28, 1976) was a Canadian composer, pianist, organist, choirmaster and teacher. Robert was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. At a young age his family settled in Saskatoon where he first studied with his mother. Between 1937 and 1939 he studied under Arthur Benjamin, and Herbert Howells in England at the RCM. When he returned to Saskatoon he taught piano before making his formal debut in 1940 at Darke Hall in Regina and later toured Saskatchewan as a recitalist. While studying piano with Lyell Gustin in 1941-2 he became the assistant organist at the Church of St Alban the Martyr in Saskatoon. In 1941 and 1945 he attended The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), to which in later years he contributed music. Robert John Fleming (November 23, 1854 – October 26, 1925) was twice Mayor of Toronto (1892–1893 and 2nd incumbency 1896–1897) Born in Toronto, Robert John Fleming was of Irish ancestry, the son of William and Jane (Cauldwell) Fleming. Educated in Toronto public schools he first entered the business world in real estate. From there he moved on to the Toronto Railway Company becoming the general manager in 1905. He was also a member of the Orange Order in Canada. Fleming's political career began as an Alderman for the Ward of St. David's 1886 to 1890. In 1892 Toronto municipal election, he was elected mayor of Toronto. He was defeated in 1894 and 1895 but was returned to office in the 1896 Toronto municipal election and again the next year.
