Robert F. Durkin
Major General Robert Francis Durkin of the United States Air Force was Director of Defense Mapping Agency from October 1987 to June 1990. As director, Durkin restructured the Defense Mapping Agency's international and domestic training in the production and exploitation of geospatial information. Early life, and education General Durkin was born in Youngstown, Ohio; in 1936, and graduated from Youngstown South High School in 1954. He earned a bachelor of science degree in military science from the United States Military Academy in 1958, and a master of science degree in engineering management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1966. Joint Forces Staff College
The Joint Forces Staff College (JFSC), located in Norfolk, Virginia, was established as the Armed Forces Staff College in 1946 and incorporated into the National Defense University in August 1981. Arlington National Cemetery
Arlington National Cemetery is one of two national cemeteries run by the United States Army. Nearly 400,000 people are buried in its 639 acres (259 ha) in Arlington, Virginia. There are about 30 funerals conducted on weekdays and 7 held on Saturday. The other Army cemetery is in Washington, D.C. and is called the U.S. Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery. All other national cemeteries are run by the National Cemetery System of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Minot Air Force Base is a U.S. Air Force installation in Ward County, North Dakota, north of the city of Minot via U.S. Route 83. Ellsworth Air Force Base (AFB) is a United States Air Force base located about northeast of Rapid City, South Dakota, just north of the town of Box Elder, South Dakota, Box Elder.
