Rob Elliot
Robert Elliot (born 30 April 1986) is a professional footballer who is currently a technical director and goalkeeper for Gateshead. Elliot also played for the Republic of Ireland national team. Elliot began his career with Erith Town, before joining Charlton Athletic's academy side. Whilst at Charlton, he was sent out on loan to Bishop's Stortford and Notts County, and also spent two loan spells at Accrington Stanley, where he was nicknamed "The Dilsh". He would then go on to be Charlton's first choice goalkeeper for a number of seasons, until he joined Newcastle United on transfer deadline day in the summer of 2011. Signed mainly as a back-up to Tim Krul, he featured for the club sporadically, but became first choice in the 2015–16 season after Krul suffered a season-ending injury. Robert Henry Elliot
Robert Henry Elliot, (1837–1914), was an early British coffee planter in Mysore, India. He was the author of books about plantation life in Mysore and about farming in Scotland. He came from Kelso, Roxburghshire, Scotland. Plantations According to Elliot's own account in ''Gold, Sport, and Coffee Planting In Mysore'', he arrived in Bombay in 1855 at 18 years of age. From there he sailed to Mangalore, then headed inland through the ghauts to the high plateau of Mysore, where he joined Frederick Green, who had begun his plantation in 1843. The first European coffee plantation to its south had just started in 1854, while the second, some to the north, was being established by three Scottish planters. Robert Elliot (Royal Navy Officer)
Robert James Elliott (born 12 May 1790 Wheldrake, Yorkshiredied Pentonville, London 30 April 1849) ( fl. 1822–1833), was an English naval officer, Captain in the Royal Navy, and known as a topographical draughtsman from 1822 to 1824. Biography Elliot (Elliott) was the son of the Reverend Robert Elliot and Mary. His father was a younger brother of Gilbert Elliot-Murray-Kynynmound, 1st Earl of Minto, the Governor-General of India between 1807 and 1813. His cousin, Minto's son, George served during the same period. He entered the Royal Navy as a Cadet in 1802, and served his country with honour during the Napoleonic War. His name appeared in the London Gazette in 1807, and he was made a lieutenant for his gallantry in charge of the boats of the ''Fox'', in 1808 when he was severely wounded in trying to cut out a ship from Batavia Roads. Professor Robert Henry Elliot FRCS (23 August 1864 – 9 November 1936) was a British ophthalmic surgeon and author, an expert on snake venom and on Indian magic. Biography Born on 23 August 1864, Robert Elliot was educated at Bedford School and at the Medical College of St Bartholomew's Hospital. He entered the Indian Medical Service and was gazetted surgeon-lieutenant on 30 January 1892. He served on the North West Frontier, between 1892 and 1893, and was Superintendent of the Government Ophthalmic Hospital, Madras, and professor of Ophthalmology at Madras Medical College, between 1904 and 1914. He gained a D.Sc. from the University of Edinburgh in 1904 with a thesis on the pharmacology of cobra venom. He was Hunterian Professor at the Royal College of Surgeons, between 1916 and 1917, and Chairman of the Naval and Military Committee of the British Medical Association, between 1917 and 1922.
