Robert Chancey
Robert Dewayne Chancey (born September 7, 1972) is a former American football fullback in the National Football League for the San Diego Chargers, Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys. Prior to his professional football career, he was drafted in the sixth round of the 1992 MLB Draft and spent 4 years playing minor league baseball. Early years Chancey attended Millbrook (AL) Stanhope Elmore. His cousin Antowain Smith was one of his teammates. As a senior, he was ranked second in the nation as a running back prospect. Professional career Professional baseball Chancey chose to play professional baseball instead of attending college. He was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 6th round of the 1992 MLB Draft and was given a $108,000 signing bonus. The Florida Complex League Orioles are a Rookie-level affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, competing in the Florida Complex League of Minor League Baseball. Before 2021, the team was known as the Gulf Coast League Orioles. The team plays its home games in Sarasota, Florida, at Ed Smith Stadium, which became the spring training home to the major-league Orioles at the start of the 2010 season. History The team first competed from 1991 to 2003 in the Gulf Coast League. After not fielding a team for three seasons, the team returned in 2007 and has competed continuously since then. The 40-yard dash is a sprint covering . It is primarily run to evaluate the speed and acceleration of American football players by scouts, particularly for the NFL Draft but also for collegiate recruiting. A player's recorded time can have a heavy impact on his prospects in college or professional football. This was traditionally only true for the "skill" positions such as running back, wide receiver, and defensive back, although now a fast 40-yard dash time is considered important for almost every position. The 40-yard dash is not an official race in track and field athletics, and is not an IAAF-recognized race. 1997 NFL Season
The 1997 NFL season was the 78th regular season of the National Football League. The Oilers relocated from Houston, Texas to Nashville, Tennessee. The newly renamed Tennessee Oilers played their home games during this season at the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee while construction of a new stadium in Nashville started. Houston would rejoin the NFL with the expansion Texans in 2002. The BC Lions are a professional Canadian football team based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Tampa Bay
Tampa Bay is a large natural harbor and shallow estuary connected to the Gulf of Mexico on the west-central coast of Florida, comprising Hillsborough Bay, McKay Bay, Old Tampa Bay, Middle Tampa Bay, and Lower Tampa Bay. The largest freshwater inflow into the bay is the Hillsborough River, which flows into Hillsborough Bay in downtown Tampa. Many other smaller rivers and streams also flow into Tampa Bay, resulting in a large watershed area. The shores of Tampa Bay were home to the Weedon Island Culture and then the Safety Harbor culture for thousands of years.
