Robert (Bob) trained as an actor at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, 1953–55. In a long and varied career, his main priority was the stage and he has acted with most of the major regional theatre companies and toured extensively in the UK and overseas. He was for two years associated with the English Stage Company at the Royal Court Theatre and appeared in The School for Scandal at the Theatre Royal, Haymarket, and in An Enemy of the People and Peter Pan at the National Theatre. Mansfield
Mansfield is a market town and the administrative centre of Mansfield District in Nottinghamshire, England. It is the largest town in the wider Mansfield Urban Area (followed by Sutton-in-Ashfield). It gained the Royal Charter of a market town in 1227. The town lies in the Maun Valley, north of Nottingham and near Sutton-in-Ashfield. Most of the 109,000 population live in the town itself (including Mansfield Woodhouse), with Warsop as a secondary centre. ''Z-Cars'' or ''Z Cars'' (pronounced "zed cars") is a British television police procedural series centred on the work of mobile uniformed police in the fictional town of Newtown, based on Kirkby, near Liverpool. Produced by the BBC, it debuted in January 1962 and ran until September 1978. The series differed sharply from earlier police procedurals.
