Robbert Vos
Robbert Vos (born 1986), is a euphonium soloist, Besson (music company), Besson artist, conductor and tutor from the Netherlands. Biography Robbert (1986) started his musical career as a flugelhorn player with Jo Delnoye but he switched to euphonium after several years. In 2004 he started his studies for euphonium with Piet Joris as his teacher at the Fontys College of Music in Tilburg. He followed courses in Solo Playing, Teaching and Chamber Music. At the same time Robbert started his studies for Wind and Brass Band Conducting given by Hardy Mertens. In the spring of 2008, Robbert passed both studies with credit. Robbert plays on Besson Prestige 2052-2and is a Besson artist. He also teamed up witKurun & Gilbert Mouthpiecesas an artist. In 2008 he went to the Academy of Music in Utrecht to continue his training of Wind and Brass Band Conducting with Danny Oosterman. In 2010, Robbert again passed his study with credit. Euphonium
The euphonium is a medium-sized, 3 or 4-valve, often compensating, conical-bore, tenor-voiced brass instrument that derives its name from the Ancient Greek word ''euphōnos'', meaning "well-sounding" or "sweet-voiced" ( ''eu'' means "well" or "good" and ''phōnē'' means "sound", hence "of good sound"). Besson (music Company)
Besson is a manufacturer of brass musical instruments. It is owned by Buffet Crampon, which bought Besson in 2006 from The Music Group. The company was formed in 1837 by Gustave Auguste Besson, who at the age of 18 produced a revolutionary design of cornet which surpassed all contemporary models. His products quickly gained a great reputation throughout Europe. In 1857, he moved to England where he built a large factory in London from which his instruments took a share of the English market and from where he exported to many countries including the United States. The modern company produces a range of cornets, tenor horns, euphoniums, tubas, French horns and baritone horns. In its history, Besson also produced a number of other brass instruments, including a huge 'triple' B♭ tuba.
