Rob Sonic
Robert Smith, better known by his stage name Rob Sonic, is an American rapper and record producer from the Bronx, New York. He has been a member of the groups Sonic Sum and Hail Mary Mallon. He is a founder of the record label Skypimps Music. Biography Rob Sonic is originally from Washington, D.C. As a child, he moved to New York. He started rapping at age 12. In 2011, Smith released the album ''Are You Gonna Eat That?'' on Rhymesayers Entertainment with Aesop Rock and DJ Big Wiz under the alias Hail Mary Mallon. The group's second album, ''Bestiary'', was released in 2014 on the same label. In 2004, he released his debut solo studio album, ''Telicatessen'', on Definitive Jux. Hail Mary Mallon
Hail Mary Mallon was an American hip-hop group consisting of Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic, and DJ Big Wiz. The group's name is a reference to Typhoid Mary. Their first release was the song "D-Up", featured on the compilation album, ''Definitive Jux Presents 4''. History Aesop Rock and Rob Sonic first heard of each other in the mid to late 1990s through the New York City hip hop scene. Soon after, the two would become label mates on El-P's independent hip hop label Definitive Jux, with DJ Big Wiz contributing to Aesop Rock and Rob Sonic's earlier albums. Thomas Fec, better known by his stage name Tobacco (stylized in all caps), is an American electronic musician. He is the frontman of the psychedelic rock band Black Moth Super Rainbow, in addition to working as a solo artist. As of late 2018, he has teamed up with rapper Aesop Rock to become the music duo Malibu Ken, releasing their self-titled debut album in January 2019. Blue Sky Black Death (abbreviated BSBD) was a production duo based in the San Francisco Bay Area. It consisted of Ryan Maguire, better known by his stage name Kingston, and Ian Taggart, better known by his stage name Young God, or, later, Televangel. They are known principally for their hip hop and instrumental music, made with a mixture of live instrumentation and sampling. Their name is "a skydiving phrase alluding to beauty and death."
