Rob Ramos
Strung Out is an American punk rock band from Simi Valley, California, formed in 1989. They are known mainly for their musical style, which fuses aspects of melodic punk rock, progressive rock and heavy metal to form their primary sound. They have released nine studio albums on Fat Wreck Chords as well as one Live album, 2 B-sides collections, a best-of, a box set and appeared on numerous compilations and skate/surf/dirt bike/offroading videos. They have played on the Warped Tour and continue to tour internationally. The band currently have an ongoing collaboration beer with Lucky Luke Brewing Company called “Astrolux Golden Ale”. Jason Alexander Cruz (born February 6, 1974) is the American lead singer and lyricist of punk band Strung Out, which formed in 1989 when he was 15 years old. He is also an artist, and a poet and fronts his roots Americana band 'Jason Cruz and Howl'. His personal website showcases his various forms of original artwork (paintings as well as graphic design and photography). Early life Cruz grew up in and around Los Angeles. He focused his energies on art and creative writing in school and began playing with Strung Out in 1991 in Southern California. Jason's major influences include classic artists such as Tom Waits, Jimi Hendrix, Hank Williams Sr, William Burroughs, Charles Bukowski, and Bob Dylan and visual artists Robert Mcginnis and Jean-Michel Basquiat. ''Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues'' is the second album by American punk rock band, Strung Out with Fat Wreck Chords. The album was released on April 23, 1996. The title is an amalgamation of Bob Dylan's song "Subterranean Homesick Blues" and a phrase from the song "Baba O'Riley" by The Who. The album received positive reviews from critics and fans alike. It was remastered and re-released on April 15, 2014 as part of the first volume of Strung Out's 20th anniversary box set. ''Songs of Armor and Devotion'' is the ninth studio album from the American punk band Strung Out. It was released on August 9, 2019 through Fat Wreck Chords on CD and LP. ''Songs of Armor and Devotion'' is the only album to feature drummer RJ Shankle, prior to his departure in July 2022. It was generally received well by critics. Shortly after, two collaboration beers was released with Lucky Luke Brewing Company (Palmdale, CA) in conjunction with the album release. One named “Armor” an IPA and “Devotion” a citrus wheat beer. Alice in Chains (often abbreviated as AIC) is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1987 by guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell and drummer Sean Kinney, who later recruited bassist Mike Starr and lead vocalist Layne Staley. Starr was replaced by Mike Inez in 1993. William DuVall joined the band in 2006 as co-lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, replacing Staley, who had died in 2002. This is their first album with current bassist, Chris Aiken. Background and production In August 2000, the band were shopping around different labels for their next album. Around this time, the band were writing a lot of material while on tour, with the aim of releasing an album in early 2001, which was reportedly titled ''American Paradox''.
