Rob Nen
Robb Allen Nen (born November 28, 1969) is a former Major League Baseball right-handed relief pitcher. He spent most of his career as a closer (baseball), closer. He is the son of former major league first baseman Dick Nen. He currently works in the Giants' front office as a special assistant to General Manager Farhan Zaidi. Nen pitched for the Miami Marlins, Florida Marlins (1993–97); in 1997, Nen won the 1997 World Series, World Series championship with the Marlins. He also played with the San Francisco Giants (1998–2002), with whom he was a three-time Major League Baseball All-Star Game, All-Star and played in the 2002 World Series, and the Texas Rangers (baseball), Texas Rangers (1993). Nen has 314 career save (baseball), saves with the Marlins (1993–1997; 108 saves) and Giants (1998–2002; 206 saves). Pitcher
In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the pitcher is assigned the number 1. The pitcher is often considered the most important player on the defensive side of the game, and as such is situated at the right end of the defensive spectrum.
