Rob Menendez
Robert Jacobsen Menendez Jr. (born July 12, 1985) is an American lawyer and politician who has served as a commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey since 2021. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from New Jersey's 8th congressional district in 2022. He is the son of U.S. Senator Bob Menendez. Early life and education Menendez attended The Hudson School in Hoboken, New Jersey, graduating in 2003. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School. Early Career Menendez is a lawyer with Lowenstein Sandler LLP. Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Menendez was nominated to be a commissioner of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey by Governor Phil Murphy after his previous nomination, Amy Rosen, was stalled. Rutgers Law School is the law school of Rutgers University, with classrooms in Newark and Camden, New Jersey. New Jersey's 13th congressional district was a congressional district which was created for the 73rd United States Congress in 1933, based on redistricting following the United States Census, 1930. It was last represented by Democrat Albio Sires when it was eliminated due to redistricting following the United States Census, 2010. David Wildstein (born September 1961) is an American businessman, Republican Party politician, political blogger, and the founder of the New Jersey political news website Politicker Network. A former mayor of Livingston, New Jersey, he served as a senior official in the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey during the administration of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie until 2013, when Wildstein resigned in the midst of a scandal involving traffic lanes closures. On May 1, 2015, he pleaded guilty to two federal felony counts of conspiracy as part of a plea agreement. Wildstein was sentenced in July 2017 without incarceration. He was sentenced to three years' probation and 500 hours of community service. He was also fined $10,000 and prohibited from seeking or accepting employment with any government agency.
