Rob Jeter
Robert DeLafayette Jeter III (born May 15, 1969) is an American college basketball coach and current head coach at Western Illinois. Personal life Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jeter grew up in Chicago. His father, Bob (1937–2008), was a Rose Bowl MVP as a halfback for the Iowa Hawkeyes and a second round pick in the 1960 NFL draft. He was later a defensive back in the NFL for the Green Bay Packers under Vince Lombardi and a member of the Packer Hall of Fame and Rose Bowl Hall of Fame. His brother, Carlton Jeter, played basketball alongside him at UW–Platteville. His uncle, Tony Jeter, played football at Nebraska under head coach Bob Devaney and was a tight end in the NFL for two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bob Jeter
Robert DeLafayette Jeter, Jr. (May 9, 1937 – November 20, 2008) was an American football cornerback in the National Football League for the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears. Early years Jeter was raised in Weirton, West Virginia, where he attended the segregated local school, Dunbar High School, until after his junior year in 1954. He then attended Weir High School and was a football standout his senior year in the fall of 1955. He played college football at the University of Iowa. As a halfback with the Hawkeyes, Jeter rushed for a Rose Bowl record 194 yards on just nine carries against California as a junior in the 1959 Rose Bowl. This total included an 81-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, another record. As a result of this performance, he was the named the game's MVP, and Iowa finished as runner-up in the AP poll. Bob Devaney
Robert Simon Devaney (April 13, 1915 – May 9, 1997) was a college football coach. He served as the head coach at the University of Wyoming from 1957 to 1961 and at the University of Nebraska from 1962 to 1972, compiling a career record of . Devaney's Nebraska Cornhuskers won consecutive national championships in 1970 and 1971 and three consecutive Orange Bowls. Devaney also served as the athletic director at Nebraska from 1967 to 1993, and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 1981. He died of a heart attack at age 82 and is buried at Lincoln Memorial Park in Lincoln. Tony Jeter (born September 8, 1944) is an American former professional football player who was a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). Biography Jeter was born Anthony John Jeter on September 8, 1944, in Steubenville, Ohio. He is the brother of former Green Bay Packers Pro Bowler Bob Jeter, and the uncle of Milwaukee Panthers men's basketball head coach Rob Jeter. Career Jeter was drafted by the Packers in the third round of the 1966 NFL Draft and later played two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Vincent Thomas Lombardi (June 11, 1913 – September 3, 1970) was an American football coach and executive in the National Football League (NFL). Lombardi is considered by many to be the greatest coach in football history, and he is recognized as one of the greatest coaches and leaders in the history of all American sports.
