Rob Cook (rugby Union)
Rob Cook (born 7 July 1984 in Lincoln) is an English professional rugby union player who played for Premiership side Gloucester as a fullback. Former Deputy-Director of Sport and Director of Rugby at King Edward VI Grammar School Stratford-Upon-Avon. Early life Rob Cook was born on 7 July 1984 in Lincoln, England. He attended Oakham School for two years in their 6th Form. In this time, he captained the rugby, cricket and football 1st teams. He won the Daily Mail Cup at Twickenham in 2002, scoring his first try in the process. He attended Worcester University, where he read sports studies and played for the rugby team. He gained Representative Honours with England Universities, Midlands U18s and England Counties. Club career Cook joined Nuneaton R.F.C. in 2007. He remained with them for two seasons (2007/8 and 2008/9), making 51 first team appearances at Full Back or Fly-half and scoring 140 points. National League 1
National One (last season known as National League 1 and previously known before September 2009 as National Division Two), is the third of three national leagues in the domestic rugby union competition of England. It was known as Courage League National Division Three when founded in 1987. Caldy are the current champions. The Rugby Football Union (RFU) approved a new structure for the National Leagues from the 2022–23 season. This division will be reduced to fourteen teams, playing each other on a home and away basis to make a total of 26 matches each. The champions are promoted to the RFU Championship and the bottom three teams are relegated to either National Two East, National Two North or National Two West depending on the geographical location of the team. Midlands 2 West (South)
Midlands 2 West (South) is a level seven English rugby union league and level two of the Midlands League, made up of teams from the southern part of the West Midlands region including Herefordshire, parts of Birmingham and the West Midlands, Warwickshire and Worcestershire, with home and away matches played throughout the season. When this division began in 1992 it was known as Midlands West 1, until it was split into two regional divisions called Midlands 3 West (North) and Midlands 3 West (South) ahead of the 2000–01 season. Further restructuring of the Midlands leagues ahead of the 2009–10 season, lead to the current name of Midlands 2 West (South). The 2011–12 RFU Championship was the third season (of the professionalised format) of the second tier of the English domestic rugby union competition, played between August 2011 and May 2012. New teams to the division included Leeds Carnegie who were relegated from the Aviva Premiership 2010–11 and London Scottish who were promoted from 2010–11 National League 1. The first stage was won by Bristol and the final by London Welsh who, after an appeal, won promotion to the Aviva Premiership 2012–13. Esher were relegated to the 2012–13 National League 1. On 8 May 2012 it was announced that only Bristol was eligible for promotion under the RFU's minimum standards criteria. The 2010–11 RFU Championship was the 2nd season (of the professionalised format) of the second division of the English domestic rugby union competitions, played between August 2010 and May 2011. New teams to the division included Worcester Warriors who were relegated from the Guinness Premiership 2009–10 and Esher who were promoted from the 2009–10 National League 1. The league maintained the three stage system with the league including promotion/relegation pools and playoffs to determine the champion and promoted team. Worcester Warriors topped the regular season league table, their play-off group table and then won the Championship after they defeated Cornish Pirates over two legs in the Championship final at Sixways Stadium (46-32) on 18 May 2011 to make an instant return to the Premiership. National League 2 North
National League 2 North is one of three, level four leagues in the English rugby union system and provides semi-professional competition for teams in the northern half of England, the North. The remainder of England is covered by the two counterpart leagues National League 2 East and National League 2 West. The champion club is promoted to National One. Relegation is to either the Regional 1 Midlands or North Premier leagues, depending on where the teams are based. Hull are the current champions. Before September 2009, it was known as National Division Three North. From 2009 to 2010 the Rugby Football Union (RFU) expanded the league from fourteen to sixteen teams. Each team played thirty league games on a home and away basis. The 2019–20 season ended before all the matches were completed because of the coronavirus pandemic and the RFU used a best playing record formula to decide the final table.
