''Road Trip'' is the soundtrack to the comedy film, ''Road Trip''. Album information The main title music for the movie, "The University of Ithaca Alma Mater", was not included in the soundtrack album. It was composed by Gordon Henderson, director of the UCLA Bruin Marching Band, and it was recorded by 30 members of the UCLA Band late one night in the UCLA Band Room. For legal reasons, the UCLA name could not be used in the film's credits, so "Gordon Henderson and his Midnight Music Makers" is listed in the closing credits. Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. The terms ''popular music'' and ''pop music'' are often used interchangeably, although the former describes all music that is popular and includes many disparate styles. "Anything, Anything (I'll Give You)" is a 1985 song by the alternative rock band Dramarama released as the first single from their debut album ''Cinéma Vérité''. Written by John Easdale in the mid-1980s, "Anything, Anything" features a steady beat and lyrics about the breakdown of his marriage. Although initially unsuccessful, the song saw commercial success after being played on KROQ and featuring on the '' A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master'' soundtrack. Minnie Riperton
Minnie Julia Riperton Rudolph (November 8, 1947 – July 12, 1979) was an American singer-songwriter best known for her 1975 single "Lovin' You" and her four octave D3 to F7 coloratura soprano range. She is also widely known for her use of the whistle register and has been referred to by the media as the "Queen of the Whistle Register." Born in 1947, Riperton grew up in Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side. As a child, she studied music, drama and dance at Chicago's Abraham Lincoln Center. In her teen years, she sang lead vocals for the Chicago-based girl group the Gems. Her early affiliation with the Chicago-based Chess Records afforded her the opportunity to sing backing vocals for various established artists such as Etta James, Fontella Bass, Ramsey Lewis, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters. Ash (band)
Ash are a Northern Irish rock band formed in Downpatrick in 1992 by vocalist and guitarist Tim Wheeler, bassist Mark Hamilton and drummer Rick McMurray. As a three-piece, they released mini-album '' Trailer'' in 1994 and full-length album '' 1977'' in 1996. This 1996 release was named by ''NME'' as one of the 500 greatest albums of all time. After the success of their full debut the band recruited Charlotte Hatherley as a guitarist and vocalist, releasing their second record ''Nu-Clear Sounds'' in 1998. Voodoo Lady
The ''Voodoo Lady'' is an extended play (EP) by American rock band Ween, released in the United Kingdom in January 1995 on Flying Nun Records. It appears on their fourth studio album, '' Chocolate and Cheese'' (1994). Song information The title track is in typical Bayou-style blues format. Chants of "Boogie boogie boogie" are pervasive throughout the song. Most of the lyrics describe a woman who supposedly is always "doing that stuff that you do", and "messing me up with your voodoo". The singer seems to be someone somehow romantically involved with the Voodoo Lady. The song slowly winds down at the end, with a final blast of sound finishing the song. Ween is an American rock band from New Hope, Pennsylvania, formed in 1984 by Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo, better known by their respective stage names, Gene and Dean Ween. Generally categorized as an alternative rock band, the band are known for their irreverent, highly eclectic catalog of songs inspired by funk, soul, country, gospel, prog, psychedelia, R&B, heavy metal, and punk rock. Ween self-released several cassette albums from their formation until 1989. "I Wanna Rock" is a song written and composed by Dee Snider and performed by his band Twisted Sister. It was released on the 1984 album ''Stay Hungry''. Reception ''Cash Box'' called the song "an exercise in hard rocking" that doesn't break new ground but "does what it does well." In 2009, "I Wanna Rock" was named the 17th-Greatest Hard Rock Song by VH1. Twisted Sister
Twisted Sister was an American heavy metal band originally from Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, and later based on Long Island, New York. Their best-known songs include " We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock", both of which were associated with music videos noted for their sense of slapstick humor. The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion was an American three-piece rock band from New York City, formed in 1991. The group consisted of Judah Bauer on guitar, backing vocals, harmonica and occasional lead vocals, Russell Simins on drums and Jon Spencer on vocals, guitar and theremin. Their musical style is largely rooted in rock and roll although it draws influences from punk, blues, garage, rockabilly, soul, noise rock, rhythm and blues and hip hop. "Pumping on Your Stereo" is a song by Supergrass, released as their first single from their self-titled third album (1999) on 24 May 1999. The single reached No. 11 on the UK Singles Chart and in New Zealand. It also peaked at No. 13 on the Canadian ''RPM'' Top 30 Rock Report in May 2000. In October 2011, ''NME'' placed it at No. 124 on its list "150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years". Supergrass
Supergrass are an English rock band formed in 1993 in Oxford. For the majority of the band's tenure, the line-up consisted of brothers Gaz (lead vocals, guitar) and Rob Coombes (keyboards), Mick Quinn (bass, backing vocals) and Danny Goffey (drums, backing vocals). Originally a three-piece, Rob Coombes officially joined the band in 2002.
