Rizvan Gadzhiev (born 6 January 1987 in Makhachkala, Dagestan ASSR) is a freestyle wrestler from Belarus. He participated in Men's freestyle 55 kg at 2008 Summer Olympics. He lost in 1/8 (after beating Maikel Perez in 1/16 of final) with Dilshod Mansurov from Uzbekistan. Gadzhiev won a bronze medal on 2007 FILA Wrestling World Championships and silver one on 2008 European Wrestling Championships The 2008 FILA European Wrestling Championships were held in Tampere, Finland. Freestyle wrestling is a style of wrestling originated from Great Britain and the United States. Along with Greco-Roman, it is one of the two styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic Games. American high school and men's college wrestling is conducted under different rules and is termed scholastic and collegiate wrestling. American collegiate women's wrestling is conducted under freestyle rules. Freestyle wrestling, like collegiate wrestling, has its greatest origins in catch-as-catch-can wrestling. In both styles the ultimate goal is to throw and pin the opponent to the mat, which results in an immediate win. Dilshod Mansurov (born December 12, 1983 in Tashkent) is a male freestyle wrestler from Uzbekistan. He participated in Men's freestyle 55 kg at 2008 Summer Olympics. He earned 4th place after losing the bronze medal fight with Besik Kudukhov.
