Riyadh Municipality (RM) (), officially the Riyadh Region Municipality or the Municipality of Riyadh, is a Municipality, municipal body which has jurisdiction upon overall city services and the upkeep of facilities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the Riyadh Governorate. Established in 1937 during the reign of Ibn Saud, King Abdulaziz, it comes under the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing (Saudi Arabia), Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and is headed by the mayor of the city who is responsible for overseeing the city's 16 sub-municipalities (Baladiyah, ''baladiyahs'') and other towns and settlements in Riyadh Governorate. Masmak Fort
The Masmak Fort ( ar, translit=Qaṣr al-Maṣmak, قصر المصمك), also called the Masmak Fortress or Masmak Palace, is a clay and mudbrick fort in ad-Dirah, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Built in 1865 for prince 'Abdurrahman ibn Sulaiman AlDabaan under the Emirate of Jabal Shammar, The fortress played an integral role in the Unification of Saudi Arabia, with the Battle of Riyadh, one of the most important conflicts of the Saudi unification, taking place in the fort.
