The Rivière des Roches is a tributary of the northwest shore of the Saint Lawrence river, flowing in the municipality of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Quebec, Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, in the Portneuf Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in the provinces and territories of Canada, province of Quebec, in Canada. The Roches river valley is mainly served by the Quebec Route 138, route 138, chemin du Roy, chemin du 3e rang and chemin du Cabouron, notably for the needs of agriculture and of forestry, are the two main economic activities in this area. The surface of the Rivière des Roches (except the rapids areas) is generally frozen from the beginning of December to the end of March; safe circulation on the ice is generally done from the end of December to the beginning of March. The Rivière des Roches (''English: River of rocks'') is a tributary of the west bank of the Sainte-Anne River, on the north bank of the Saint Lawrence River. This river flows in the unorganized territory of Lac-Jacques-Cartier and in the municipality of Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges, in the La Côte-de-Beaupré Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale, in the province of Quebec, in Canada. The upper part of this valley is mainly served by the rang Saint-Nicolas road which passes on the northeast side. The lower part is served by avenue Royale and by the chemin du rang Saint-Nicolas which passes on the southwest side. Desroches River (Betsiamites River)
Desroches Island or Île Desroches is the main island of the Amirante Islands, part of the Outer Islands of the Seychelles. It is located 227 km southwest of Victoria, Seychelles. It is 5.5 km long and has a land area of 4.027 km2. Along its circumference of 13 km is a beach of fine sand. Conservation on the island is managed by Island Conservation Society.
