Riverfenix
Fenix TX (styled as Fenix*TX) is an American pop punk band. The band originally formed as Riverfenix in 1995 in Houston, Texas. They released an Extended play, EP, ''G.B.O.H.'', and an album, ''Riverfenix (album), Riverfenix'', on independent record labels, before having to change their name due to a cease and desist order from the estate of actor River Phoenix. Following the change of name, they signed with major label MCA Records in 1999. On MCA, they released two further albums, 1999's ''Fenix TX (album), Fenix TX'' and 2001's ''Lechuza (album), Lechuza'', which collectively sold over 600,000 units. The band broke up in 2002 over creative differences. After the split, bassist Adam Lewis and drummer Damon DeLaPaz devoted themselves to their now defunct side project Sing the Body Electric, while singing, vocalist/guitarist Will Salazar and guitarist Chris Lewis formed the band Denver Harbor. Damon DeLaPaz
Damon DeLaPaz (born July 22, 1974) is an American drummer, guitarist, and songwriter. He was a founding member of the punk rock groups Fenix TX, 30footFALL, Demasiado, and Sing The Body Electric. He has also recorded an instrumental solo project called Sci-Fi/Horror. DeLaPaz has recorded, performed and toured with a variety of different bands and also toured as a fill in drummer for Blink-182, The Vandals, Good Charlotte, Pulley, Home Grown, Ape Machine, Trash Talk (band), and The Last Internationale. Riverfenix (album)
''Riverfenix'' is the first full-length album by Riverfenix, released on December 16, 1997 on Drive-Thru Records. Most of the album's songs were re-recorded for ''Fenix TX'' (released by both Drive-Thru and major label MCA Records), when Riverfenix was forced to change their name. This album has since been out of print and is a treasured collector's item among fans as "Skinhead Jessie", "Jaw" and the untitled tracks are not featured on the Fenix TX version release. "Apple Pie Cowboy Toothpaste" and "Jolly Green Dumbass" also featured short intros while "Rooster Song" had a slightly different sound and featured a small message within the silence leading into the second untitled track. Drive-Thru Records
Drive-Thru Records was a California-based independent record label owned by siblings Richard and Stefanie Reines. The label was partially responsible for popularizing the pop-punk/emo merger sound of the early to mid-2000s. After facing financial obstacles in getting their bands' music into stores, Drive-Thru entered into a distribution deal with MCA/Universal. In 2003 MCA was dissolved and folded into Geffen Records. One of the clauses of that agreement was MCA/Geffen being able to sign any band of their choosing from Drive-Thru's roster. Once the Universal deal ended, they signed a contract with independent label Sanctuary Records. Starting with a new roster, the label garnered a top 10 platinum hit with "Here In Your Arms" by Hellogoodbye. ''Fenix TX'' (typeset as ''Fenix*TX'') is the first of three albums Fenix TX released after their name change. It was issued on July 13, 1999, by MCA and Drive-Thru Records. Most of the ''Riverfenix'' was re-recorded for ''Fenix TX''. "Skinhead Jessie", "Jaw" and the untitled tracks from ''Riverfenix'' weren't included on this album, instead they were replaced by the previously unreleased "Flight 601 (All I've Got Is Time)" and "Surf Song". Good Riddance (sometimes abbreviated GR) is an American punk rock band from Santa Cruz, California. They released seven full-length studio albums on Fat Wreck Chords, then disbanded after releasing a live recording of their farewell concert in 2007. They reformed in 2012 and released an eighth studio album, '' Peace in Our Time'', in 2015. The band released Thoughts and Prayers, their eighth full length album, on July 19, 2019. Release "Katie W." and "Phoebe Cates" were made available for streaming on November 2, 2005. On the same day, it was announced that Prince was going to sue the band in regards to the album artwork.
