River Allen (footballer)
River Brian Zach Allen (born 7 October 1995) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Tiverton Town. Career Allen first signed for the Plymouth Argyle Centre of Excellence at the age of 11, going on to represent Plymouth Argyle's under 18s as an apprentice. He signed his first professional contract for the club in 2014. He made his first appearance for the club as a 107th-minute substitute for Lee Cox in a League Cup first-round game against Leyton Orient on 12 August 2014, in which he took and scored the first Argyle penalty in the penalty shootout after a 3–3 draw at Home Park. Four days later, he made his first league appearance in the Devon Derby against Exeter City, as a 76th-minute substitute for Tyler Harvey in Argyle's 3–0 League Two home win. The South West Peninsula League (SWPL) is a football competition in England, which was formed in 2007 from the merger of the Devon County League and the South Western League. The league is restricted to clubs based in Cornwall, Devon and West Dorset. The league consists of two Premier Divisions (East and West), which are ranked at Step 6 in the National League System. John Sheridan (footballer)
John Joseph Sheridan (born 1 October 1964) is an Irish football former football player and manager who was last head coach of National League club Oldham Athletic. A midfielder, he began his playing career with Manchester City and then moved to Leeds United, where he scored 47 league goals in 230 appearances. He played for Nottingham Forest briefly, under the management of Brian Clough, and then joined Sheffield Wednesday, for whom he scored the winning goal in the 1991 Football League Cup Final at Wembley Stadium. Near the end of his time with the club, he played for Birmingham City and Bolton Wanderers on loan before joining the latter permanently. Sheridan made 199 league appearances for Wednesday and scored 25 goals. He won the First Division title with Bolton in 1997.
