Barbara Rittner (born 25 April 1973) is a German former professional tennis player. She currently is the captain of the German Fed Cup team. Her career-high singles ranking was No. 24 in the world, achieved on 1 February 1993. As a junior, she won the 1991 Wimbledon Championships. She won her first WTA Tour title in 1992, and almost nine years later, she won her second at the Belgian Open in Antwerp. This marked the second longest time between singles titles in the Open Era (behind Marcie Louie, who captured her second title nine and half years after her first one). She also won three doubles titles with three different partners. She reached the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament twice in her professional career; once at the French Open in 1996, and again at the Australian Open in 2001. Don Rittner is an American historian, archeologist, anthropologist, environmental activist, educator, author and film maker living in the Capital District, Schenectady County, New York. He is the former Schenectady County Historian, responsible for providing guidance and support to municipal historians and serving as a conduit between the State Historian in Albany and the local historians in their counties. He is also the former Schenectady City Historian and was the Albany City Archeologist (1973–79). He is the author of more than 50+ books on history, natural history, computers, and other subjects, and has been collected by libraries worldwide. Günter Rittner (11 March 192723 November 2020) was a German painter and illustrator. He ranks among the best known German portrayers of the 20th Century. Rittner's portraits of Ludwig Erhard as well as of Kurt Georg Kiesinger are the foundation of the Gallery of Chancellors, established in 1976 by former Chancellor Helmut Schmidt in the Bundeskanzleramt in Berlin. Life Rittner was born in Breslau, Silesia, Germany on 11 March 1927. As early as six years old, he had already created portraits of his grandparents. In 1939 he painted the injured as well as ordinary soldiers in a military hospital located in the Giant Mountains. In the same year he started attending evening classes in scenery painting at the Breslau School of Fine Arts, where he met his friend and colleague Hans-Ulrich Buchwald, painter and illustrator. Horst Robert Rittner (16 July 1930 – 14 June 2021) was a German correspondence chess International Correspondence Chess Grandmaster, Grandmaster. Rudolf Rittner
Rudolf Rittner (30 June 1869 – 4 February 1943) was a German actor born in Weissbach, Moravia, famous for playing knight and folk hero Florian Geyer in Gerhart Hauptmann's drama of the same name. The well-known German painter Lovis Corinth portrayed him in 1906. Only one year later, at the age of 38, Rittner being at the peak of his career retired as theatrical actor. In 1922, he returned as actor in several German movies, especially in Fritz Lang's 1924 silent masterpiece ''Die Nibelungen'' with Rittner starring as Markgraf Rüdiger von Bechlarn. When he died in 1943, Rittner left two dramas, one of them being ''Narrenglanz'' (A Fool's Glory), an allegory on modern acting. Rudolf Rittner died in Weissbach and is buried on the local cemetery.
