Rita Shirley Seamon (October 20, 1924 – July 14, 2022) was an American bridge player. Rita won a North American championship in 1974 playing with her husband William Seamon. She placed second twice in the Women's Pairs playing with her daughter Janice Seamon-Molson. Personal life Her husband William Seamon was also a bridge player. Rita and William had three children: Rick, Michael and Janice. Michael Seamon and Janice Seamon-Molson are both bridge players. Born to bridge players Rita and William Seamon, Michael was the youngest of three children. His sister, Janice Seamon-Molson, is also a nationally ranked bridge player. On September 3, 1992, his son Kevin William Seamon was born. Seamon died suddenly in 2017 of natural causes. Chicago Mixed Board-a-Match
The Mixed Board-a-Match Teams is a bridge competition held at the summer American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) North American Bridge Championship (NABC). From 2010 the event is officially the Freeman Mixed Board-a-Match Teams, as it is contested for the Richard Freeman Memorial Trophy, named for Richard Freeman (1933–2009). This is the fourth trophy in play, following Lebhar, Barclay, and Chicago. The event is a board-a-match team event. The event typically last 2–3 days with each day being a round consisting of two sessions of 26 boards. The event is open. The Wagar Women's Knockout Teams national bridge championship is held at the summer American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) North American Bridge Championship (NABC). The Wagar Women's Knockout Teams is a knock-out team event. The event is restricted to female players.
