Risto Samardžiev
Risto Samardžiev (Macedonian: Ристо Самарџиев), born 17 August 1964 in Skopje, is a Macedonian singer and songwriter. He started his musical career when he was 16 years old. He formed the Cilindar group in 1981, which was one of the first New Wave rock bands in the Socialist Republic of Macedonia. He was also the frontman of New Romantic group Haos in Laos. In 1987 he was invited to perform on MakFest, the largest music festival in the country. The song he performed, Chilli Willi (Чили Вили) then became a hit in Macedonia. After that performance he continued to work independently, appearing in festivals as well as in bands (such as Memorija.) He has won MakFest four times as a performer, and has also written songs for other singers. Skopje
Skopje ( , , ; mk, Скопје ; sq, Shkup) is the capital and largest city of North Macedonia. It is the country's political, cultural, economic, and academic centre. The territory of Skopje has been inhabited since at least 4000 BC; remains of Neolithic settlements have been found within the old Kale Fortress that overlooks the modern city centre. Originally a Paeonian city, Scupi became the capital of Dardania in the second century BC. On the eve of the 1st century AD, the settlement was seized by the Romans and became a military camp. Ohrid Fest
Ohridski Trubaduri - Ohrid Fest is a music festival that takes place in Ohrid, North Macedonia every summer. It began in 1994 as a showcase for Macedonian summer folklore. In 1997, a pop evening was introduced to motivate Macedonian lyricists and composers, as well as artists. In 2003, an international evening was added to the program, which consists of foreign artists performing their songs along with the best placed songs from the pop evening. The festival has become prominent within the Balkan region which led to its broadcast in different countries such as Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Greece. The winners of the festival are awarded with a monetary prize as well as promotional products from the sponsors. In 2008, a fourth night was added to the festival in which amateur or unrecognized singers would compete to qualify for the pop evening. Vlatko Ilievski
Vlatko Ilievski ( mk, Влатко Илиевски; 2 July 1985 – 6 July 2018) was a Macedonian pop rock singer and actor. He was the runner-up to be the Macedonian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 and represented FYR Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song " Rusinka" in Düsseldorf, Germany. He was previously a member of the rock band "Moral". He was a student of acting at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Skopje, where he graduated in 2010 with the drama "Anger" from Stephen King (The Rage). Early life Vlatko Ilievski was born in Skopje, Yugoslavia, in present-day North Macedonia. At age of 12, he started playing guitar and singing in local bands in Skopje.
