Ripon College Cuddesdon is a Church of England seminary, theological college in Cuddesdon, a village outside Oxford, England. The College trains men and women for ministry in the Church of England: stipendiary, non-stipendiary, local ordained and lay ministry, through a wide range of flexible full-time and part-time programmes. History Ripon College Cuddesdon was formed from an amalgamation in 1975 of Cuddesdon College and Ripon Hall. The name of the college, which is incorporated by royal charter, deliberately contains no comma. Cuddesdon College and links with Oxbridge Samuel Wilberforce, Bishop of Oxford, founded Cuddesdon College in April 1853, as the Oxford Diocesan Seminary to train graduates from University of Oxford, Oxford and University of Cambridge, Cambridge. Its original buildings, designed by the Diocesan Architect for Oxford George Edmund Street, G. E. Street, were built opposite the Cuddesdon Palace. Humphrey Southern
Humphrey Ivo John Southern (born 17 September 1960) is a British Anglican bishop. From 2007 to 2015, he was Bishop of Repton, a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Derby. In April 2015 he was appointed Principal of Ripon College Cuddesdon, an Anglican theological college. Early life Southern was born on 17 September 1960. He was educated at Harrow School, an all-boys public school in London, England. He studied history at Christ Church, Oxford and graduated from the University of Oxford with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in 1982. After a period of study at Ripon College Cuddesdon he was ordained in 1987. Ordained ministry His career began with curacies at ''St Margaret's, Rainham'' (1986–1990) and ''St Mary’s, St Aiden & St Nathanael Walton-on-the-Hill, Liverpool'' (1990–1992).
