Ripley Entertainment Inc. is an entertainment and edutainment holding company owned by the Jim Pattison Group of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The company has its headquarters in an unincorporated part of southern Orange County, Florida, near Orlando, at an office complex near the intersection of Sand Lake Road and John Young Parkway. Originating with a small daily newspaper cartoon drawn by Robert Ripley, which debuted in 1918, the company now operates more than 90 attractions under a dozen brands worldwide. The daily Believe It or Not! cartoon that catapulted Ripley to fame in the 1920s is still printed and runs in hundreds of newspapers in more than 40 countries and in dozens of languages. Ride The Ducks
Ride the Ducks was a national duck tour operator and eponymous tourist attraction in some parts of the United States and Guam. It had made use of amphibious vehicles, nicknamed "ducks", to provide tours of cities by boat and by land. Ride the Ducks was purchased by Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation in 2004. Herschend sold a majority interest in the company to an independent investor in 2012. The Branson operation was sold to Ripley Entertainment in December 2017. In 2019 Ripley announced that Ride The Ducks in Branson would be permanently shut down and replaced by another attraction due to the July 2018 accident on Table Rock Lake where 17 people drowned. Ripley's Haunted Adventure are attractions owned by Ripley Entertainment, known for its ''Ripley's Believe It or Not!'' franchise and located along commercial strips and mostly in resort cities.
