Rip Reagan
Frank Alexander "Rip" Reagan (March 20, 1900 – February 22, 1971) was an American football player and coach. Early years Frank A. Reagan was born on March 20, 1900, in Delta, Alabama, to William Eugene Reagan and Ann Judson Jenkins. Auburn University He was a prominent guard for the Auburn Tigers of Auburn University, captain of the 1923 team. Reagan was twice selected All-Southern. High school coach and educator Reagan was head coach at Gadsden City High School from 1924 to 1927. He also coached at Disque High School. Reagan was once principal of Emma Sansom High School Emma Sansom High School (opened 1929 – closed 2006) was a high school located in Gadsden, Alabama. In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center (American football), center and the offensive tackle, tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for Blocking (American football), blocking. Emma Sansom High School
Emma Sansom High School (opened 1929 – closed 2006) was a high school located in Gadsden, Alabama. It was named for a young girl (Emma Sansom) who was credited with helping General Nathan Bedford Forrest to cross Black Creek in Gadsden, Alabama and get his troops ahead of Union troops, thus stopping an impending attack upon Rome, Georgia during the Civil War. Closure Emma Sansom High School was closed in 2006 when the Gadsden City Board of Education consolidated the city high schools into All City High School now known as the Gadsden City High School. Gadsden City High School is a public high school, located in Gadsden, Alabama, United States serving approximately 1500 students in grades nine through twelve.
