Rinsey ( kw, Rynnji) is a hamlet in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is located off the main A394 road between Helston and Penzance in the civil parish of Breage. Breage, Cornwall
Breage ( , ; kw, Eglosbrek (village), Pluw Vrek (parish)) is a civil parish and village in Cornwall, United Kingdom. The village is three miles (5 km) west of Helston. Other settlements in the parish include the villages of Ashton, Carleen and Godolphin Cross; the coastal village of Praa Sands; and the Great Work Mine. The ward population at the Census 2011 had increased to 4,757. Breage civil parish had a population increase to 3181. Breage is named after Saint Breaca, a missionary from Ireland (to whom the 15th-century church is dedicated) and it is in the former Kerrier District. History The parish was at the time of Domesday Book within the manor of Binnerton. There were 8 hides of land with enough for 60 ploughs. Wheal Prosper, Rinsey
Wheal Prosper was a tin mine in Cornwall, England, a short distance from the hamlet of Rinsey and about west of Porthleven. The ruined engine house remains, overlooking Mount's Bay near Rinsey Head. The site is a Scheduled Monument, and the engine house is a Grade II listed building. History and description The mine opened circa 1860 to exploit the Porthclew lode; it closed in 1866. South West Coast Path
The South West Coast Path is England's longest waymarked long-distance footpath and a National Trail. It stretches for , running from Minehead in Somerset, along the coasts of Devon and Cornwall, to Poole Harbour in Dorset. Wheal Trewavas
Wheal Trewavas was a copper mine in Cornwall, England, about west of Porthleven. The ruined engine houses remain, on sea cliffs overlooking Mount's Bay, just east of Trewavas Head. The site is a Scheduled Monument. History The mine was in operation from about 1834 to 1846. It exploited four copper lodes, which ran south-east along the coastline. There are two engine houses. Tregonning Hill
Tregonning Hill is the westerly of two granite hills overlooking Mount's Bay in west Cornwall, United Kingdom, the other being Godolphin Hill. They are approximately west of the town of Helston. The Plymouth chemist William Cookworthy mixed china stone with kaolin, mined from the hill to make Plymouth porcelain in 1768; which was the first time hard-paste porcelain was made in Britain. Part of the hill is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and at the date of notification (1994) was the only known site of western rustwort ('' Marsupella profunda'') in Great Britain. In geology, a lode is a deposit of metalliferous ore that fills or is embedded in a fissure (or crack) in a rock formation or a vein of ore that is deposited or embedded between layers of rock. The Cornishman
''The Cornishman'' is a weekly newspaper based in Penzance, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom which was first published on 18 July 1878. Circulation for the first two editions was 4,000. An edition is currently printed every Thursday. In early February 1880 the newspaper reported that it sold 11,000 copies over three editions, published on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. The first Monday edition appeared on 2 February 1880. It formerly had a separate edition to cover the Isles of Scilly. However, it now just has one edition which covers the whole of the Penwith peninsula as well as the Isles of Scilly. It is part of the Cornwall & Devon Media.
