Rimini Football Club 1912 is an Italian association football club based in Rimini, Emilia-Romagna that plays in the third-tier Serie C. The original club was founded in 1912. Their home ground is the 9786-seat Stadio Romeo Neri. History The club was founded as Libertas Rimini in 1912, and first adopted their trademark red and white shirts in the 1920s, the 1929–30 season also saw the building of the stadium still used by the club today; Stadio Romeo Neri. The club name was changed to Rimini Calcio in 1938 after a bankruptcy. Between Serie B and Serie C Rimini competed in regional leagues (the equivalent of the modern day Serie C system) for many years of their existence. Stadio Romeo Neri is a multi-use stadium in Rimini, Italy. The stadium has a capacity of 9,768 and is largely used for football (soccer), football as the home of A.C. Rimini 1912. 2011–12 Lega Pro Seconda Divisione
The 2011–12 Lega Pro Seconda Divisione season was the thirty-fourth football league season of Italian Lega Pro Seconda Divisione since its establishment in 1978, and the fourth since the renaming from Serie C to Lega Pro. It was divided into two phases: the regular season, and the playoff phase. Historically, the league was composed of 54 teams divided into three divisions of 18 teams each. This year, due to a significant reduction in qualified teams, it was decided that the league would be composed of 40 teams divided into two divisions (''gironi'') divided geographically. Catanzaro was re-admitted to the league after being previously excluded, increasing the number of teams to 41. Girone A is composed of 20 teams, and girone B is composed of 21 teams. The Serie D () is the top level of semi-professional football in the country. The fourth tier of the Italian league system, the competition sits beneath the third professional league, Serie C. The Eccellenza (, "excellence") is the fifth level (since 2014–15) of Italian football. It is a regional league, composed of 28 divisions divided geographically. All 20 regions are represented by at least one division except for Piedmont and Aosta Valley which share 2 divisions. Veneto, Tuscany, Sicily, Emilia-Romagna and Campania also have 2 divisions each, while the regions of Lombardy and Lazio have 3 divisions.
