Kampong Rimba
Kampong Rimba (from the Malay name, literally translates as 'Rimba Village') is a village on the outskirts of Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei. It is one of the village subdivisions under Mukim Gadong 'A', a mukim in Brunei-Muara District. The population was 5,013 in 2016. Name The origin of the name Rimba is from the word ''rimba'' ( thick forest). It is believed from the stories of the elders from word of mouth, at that time the residents made a living by exploring the jungle for farming and then made it the starting point of life from the Baloi River and moved to the countryside until it reached the Tungku Beach and continued to the current village site. It is also believed that the message of Islam came to Rimba from the Arab missionaries who often traded through the South China Sea and indirectly conveyed the teachings of Islam. The Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve, nearly the size of Singapore, consists of 64,000 hectares of bio-diverse tropical peat swamp forest that contain as much as 1,000 plant and animal species per hectare and is one of the most highly endangered ecosystems on the planet. The project area and ongoing initiatives focus on environmental conservation, community outreach, and climate control. Rimba Raya is home to one of the few remaining relic populations of wild orangutans and is the largest privately funded orangutan reserve in the world. Selayang is a town in Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. Miguel Ángel Rimba Alvis (born November 1, 1967 in Riberalta) is a former Bolivian football defender. He played 80 international matches for the Bolivia national team. Career Rimba made three appearances in the 1994 FIFA World Cup and was part of the squad that reached the final of the Copa América in 1997. He made his debut on May 25, 89 in a friendly match against Paraguay in Cochabamba. He played the majority of his club career for Bolívar where he won six Bolivian league titles (1988, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 1997). Orang Rimba
The Orang Batin Sembilan, Orang Rimba or Anak Dalam are mobile, animist peoples who live throughout the lowland forests of southeast Sumatra. Kubu is a Malay exonym ascribed to them. In the Malay language, the word Kubu can mean defensive fortification, entrenchment, or a place of refuge. It is metaphor for how the majority and dominant Islamic Melayu villagers believe them to use the interior forests as a means for resisting inclusion in the larger Malay social and Islamic religious world. As is the case with other forest peoples in the region, the term Kubu is associated with very negative connotations.
