''Right Back'' is the debut album by Long Beach Dub Allstars, released September 28, 1999 through DreamWorks Records. It was followed up by the album ''Wonders of the World'' in 2001. Long Beach Dub Allstars
The Long Beach Dub Allstars are an American dub/ska/rock band formed in 1997 and disbanded in 2002, but reformed 10 years later. History Initial career (1997–2001) Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh met in childhood (in 1979) and later started their first garage punk band, consisting of drums, bass and vocals. In 1988, with Bradley Nowell, they formed the ska punk and reggae rock band Sublime, which went on to sell over 17 million albums worldwide. After Nowell's fatal heroin overdose in 1996, Wilson and Gaugh founded the Long Beach Dub Allstars (LBDAS), joined by frequent Sublime contributors Michael "Miguel" Happoldt, Todd Forman, and "Field" Marshall Goodman. Eric Wilson said: "We will never replace the greatness that Sublime did or what Bradley has done." ''The Village Voice'' is an American news and culture paper, known for being the country's first alternative newsweekly. Jack Maness
Jack Maness is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and keyboardist. RAS-1
RAS-1 (Richard Arthur Smith) is a musician (guitarist/singer) who was in the band Long Beach Shortbus with former Sublime bassist Eric Wilson and Willard "trey" Pangborn of Falling Idols, along with drummer Damien Ramirez. RAS-1 was also a member of Long Beach Dub Allstars along with Eric Wilson and former Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh. Early life Richard Arthur Smith is the son of singer Dora Gail Smith formerly of the all girl Long Beach jazz quartet Dream. Early bands As a teenager, RAS-1 was in a psychedelic rock band called The Griffin with his cousin J-sun, the current singer/poet of the band Stonewing. Following this, he played guitar and sang with a reggae band called Jah Children, which played backyard parties in Long Beach and opened for Sublime on occasion. Opie Ortiz
Opie Ortiz is an American artist specializing in tattoos, pop art and murals. Ortiz is best known for his art featured on Sublime album covers. Murals painted by Ortiz can be found in and around Long Beach, California. Career Ortiz operated American Beauty Tattoo for approximately seven years before opening World Famous Tattoo. He currently works at Still Life Tattoo, located in Seal Beach, California. Ortiz was also responsible for the "Sublime" tattoo across Bradley Nowell's upper back, which appeared on the cover of the multi-platinum self-titled album '' Sublime'', along with the flower art covering the front of the CD. The band took its name from the antagonist in Stephen King's horror novel '' It'' known as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. Tippa Irie (born Anthony Henry, 1965, London, England) is a British reggae singer and DJ from Brixton, South London. He first came to prominence in the early 1980s as an MC on the South London reggae soundsystem Saxon Studio International.
