Ridin' Wild (1922 Film)
''Ridin' Wild'' is a 1922 American silent film, silent Western (genre), Western film directed by Nat Ross and featuring Hoot Gibson. It is not known whether the film currently survives, suggesting that it is a lost film. Plot Based upon a review in a film publication, Cyril Henderson (Gibson), although growing up in a western community where guns are common and liquor freely drunk, was never raised by his Quaker mother (Claire) to be "rough." Cyril's sweetheart Grace Nolan (Murphy) returns from college and, to his dismay, town bully Art Jordan (Boteler) announces that she is his "steady." Grace goes along with this to teach Cyril a lesson. When Cyril then tries to get rough to please her, the people in the town laugh at him. Old Andrew McBride (Hoffman), who held mortgages on nearly everyone in town, is found murdered, and Cyril's father (Welsh) is arrested as the suspect since he was the last person to see McBride. Nat Ross
Nat Ross (June 13, 1902 – February 24, 1941) was an American film director and producer of the silent film, silent era. He directed more than 60 films between 1922 and 1931, and produced films until 1937. He was born in San Francisco, California. He was shot dead in Los Angeles in 1941 by a disgruntled employee whom Ross had fired from the plant where Ross was working as foreman. He was the nephew of producer Carl Laemmle. Wilton Taylor
Wilton Taylor (1869 – January 24, 1925) was an American stage and silent screen actor. He usually played gruff men of authority like wardens, judges or the police commissioner in Tod Browning's '' Outside the Law'' (1920). Of some other surviving silent he can be seen in Houdini's '' Terror Island'' (1920). Prior to entering films he spent some years on the stage and appeared as a police inspector in the original 1912 Broadway production of '' Within the Law'' starring Jane Cowl. Gertrude Claire
Gertrude Claire (July 16, 1852 – April 28, 1928) was an actress of the American stage and Hollywood silent motion pictures. Biography Claire was born in Chicago, Illinois, and began appearing onstage at the age of 16. She played minor roles in New York City. In the coming years she began to play leads. Among the actors of note she played with John Drew Jr., Edwin Booth, and Richard Mansfield. She began work in films while the industry was still based in New York. Then she moved to Hollywood, where she was part of the first motion picture playing company organized there. Claire had roles in 123 films beginning in 1910 and continuing until 1928. Her last appearance in movies was in the Clara Bow feature film ''Red Hair'' (1928). On April 28, 1928, Claire died at her home in Hollywood, aged 76. He was born in New York City and died in Los Angeles, California, from lung cancer.
