Ricky Allen Seilheimer is an American former professional baseball catcher. He was drafted in the first round of the 1979 Major League Baseball Draft by the Chicago White Sox. He made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut in at the age of 19, the youngest player in the major leagues at the time. Catcher is a Baseball positions, position in baseball and softball. When a Batter (baseball), batter takes their at bat, turn to hit, the catcher crouches behind home plate, in front of the (home plate, home) Umpire (baseball), umpire, and receives the ball from the pitcher.
