Rick Ogle
Richard James Ogle (born January 14, 1949) is a former American football linebacker who played college football for Colorado (1968–1970) and professional football in the National Football League (NFL) for the St. Louis Cardinals (1971) and the Detroit Lions (1972). He appeared in a total of 10 NFL games, five as a starter. Early life Ogle was born in 1949 in Bozeman, Montana, and attended Bozeman High School. He played college football for the Colorado Buffaloes from 1968 to 1970. Professional career He was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 11th round (277th overall pick) of the 1971 NFL draft. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. The 1971 National Football League draft was held January 28–29, 1971, at the Belmont Plaza Hotel in New York City, New York. The Boston Patriots, who did not officially change their name to New England Patriots until after the draft, used the first overall pick of the draft to select quarterback Jim Plunkett. Paul Gipson
Paul Theodis Gipson (March 21, 1946 – January 16, 1985) was a professional American football player who played running back for four seasons for the Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, and New England Patriots. Biography Gipson played high school football at Conroe Washington, which at the time was an all-black school. He played running back and fullback while at the University of Houston. He was one of the first black athletes recruited by "UH". In his senior season he was a first team American Football Coaches Association and second team Associated Press All-American. Gipson set several school rushing records (for a complete listing, see below). In his University of Houston career he rushed for 2,769 yards on 447 carries (6.2 yard average).
