Rick Adams (baseball)
Reuben Alexander "Rick" Adams (December 24, 1878 – March 10, 1955) was an American professional baseball player whose career spanned over 13 seasons, including one in Major League Baseball with the Washington Senators (1905). In his one major league season, Adams went 2–5 with a 3.59 earned run average (ERA), three complete games, one shutout and 25 strikeouts in 11 games, six starts. Adams also played in the minor leagues with the Spokane Blue Stockings (1901), Tacoma Tigers (1901), Paris Eisenfelder's Homeseekers (1902), New Orleans Pelicans (1902–1903), Montreal Royals (1904), Temple Boll Weevils (1905), Cleburne Railroaders (1906), Denver Grizzlies (1907–1910), Houston Buffaloes (1911), Denison Blue Sox (1913) and Denison Champions. Richard L. "Rick" Adams, Jr. is an American Internet pioneer and the founder of UUNET, which, in the mid and late 1990s, was the world's largest Internet Service Provider (ISP). Life Adams was responsible for the first widely available Serial Line Internet Protocol, Serial Line IP (SLIP) implementation and founding UUNET, thereby making the Internet widely accessible. In 1982 he ran the first international UUCP e-mail link, known as "Seismo", at the Center for Seismic Studies in Northern Virginia), which evolved into the first (UUCP-based) UUNET. He maintained B News (at that time the most popular Usenet News transport). In 1996, he donated one million dollars U.S. to the James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) to be used as the basis for its One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge. He is the JREF's treasurer. Rick Adams formally known as Rick Prosser (credited as DJ Rick) (born 16 October 1971) is an English television presenter and online radio DJ. Early career After attending Bournemouth University, Adams has hosted television and radio shows for a variety of leading networks including Nickelodeon, Children's BBC, Bravo and ITV in the UK on which he presented ''Crazy Cottage'', a kids' game show. He was a co-presenter of Channel 4's ''The Big Breakfast'' in 1996. He has co-hosted Nickelodeon US's ''Slime Time Live'' and Nickelodeon UK telecasts of the US ''Kid's Choice Awards'', which he co-hosted one year with Whitney Houston. Ricky Adams
Ricky Lee Adams (January 21, 1959 – October 28, 2011) was an American former professional baseball player who played three seasons for the California Angels and San Francisco Giants of the Major League Baseball (MLB). In a three season career, Adams had a batting average of .215 and four home runs. Career On June 7, 1977 he was drafted by the Houston Astros in the first round, as the 14th pick, of the 1977 MLB draft. They released him April 4, 1980 after three years in the Astros farm system. On May 2, 1980 he signed as a free agent with the California Angels. Adams made his debut with the Angels on September 15, 1982, a loss to the Chicago White Sox. Adams came into the game in the bottom of the 5th inning, replacing Tim Foli at shortstop. He did not get a chance to bat, however, being pulled for pinch hitter Daryl Sconiers in the top of the 7th inning.
