Berkshire Park is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It covers within the Local government in Australia, local government area of City of Penrith. Origin of name The suburb's name is believed to have come from the English county of Berkshire. The land was given to Richard Rouse (Australian colonial settler), Richard Rouse as a land grant in 1838. Rouse may have chosen this name because he had been married in North Hinksey, which was then part of Berkshire. Berkshire Park Post Office opened on 1 May 1936 and closed in 1961. Blacktown
Blacktown is a suburb in the City of Blacktown, in Greater Western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Blacktown is located west of the Sydney central business district. It is one of the most multicultural places within Greater Sydney. History Prior to the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788, the area of today's Blacktown was inhabited by different groups of the Darug people including the Warmuli, based around what is now Prospect, and their neighbours the Gomerigal from the South Creek area and the Wawarawarry from the Eastern Creek area. It is estimated that fifty to ninety percent of the Darug died of smallpox and other introduced diseases within a few years of the British arrival. The A9 is the outer western Sydney Bypass connecting Campbelltown to Windsor. It was formerly designated Metroad 9, which was one of Sydney's Metroads. “A9” is used as a route number designation for the entire length, however the road falls under numerous local names. Homebush West
Homebush West is a suburb in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Homebush West is located 13 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the Municipality of Strathfield, with a small unpopulated strip in the northwest in Cumberland Council. The suburb is commonly referred to as Flemington, even in official contexts. This was the old name of the suburb before the establishment of Sydney Markets in 1975.
