Richmond Raiders
The Richmond Raiders were a professional indoor football team located in Richmond, Virginia the Richmond Coliseum as their home arena. The Raiders began play in the 2010 as an expansion team of the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA). The Raiders moved to the Southern Indoor Football League (SIFL) when the Eastern Division of the AIFA merged with the SIFL in the winter of 2010, beginning SIFL play in the 2011 season. After just a single season in the SIFL the Raiders, along with four other members of the SIFL, became the charter members of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL). The team was then a member the PIFL from 2012 to 2015. History In July, 2009, the American Indoor Football Association announced that they would be expanding into Richmond, Virginia. Jonathan Bane
Jonathan Bane (born September 4, 1991) is an American football quarterback for the Orlando Predators of the National Arena League (NAL). He played college football at Dakota Wesleyan. Early years Bane first played high school football for the Rogers High School Eagles of Rogers, Texas before transferring to play for the Temple High School Wildcats of Temple, Texas. He left Rogers his junior year due to a disagreement with the head coach. He was ruled ineligible for varsity sports for a year by the University Interscholastic League. Bane then played on Temple's junior varsity team and did not appear in any varsity games until the final contest of his senior season and an ensuing playoff game. He then signed to play football at Trinity Valley Community College. He was in a car crash his senior year that severely hampered his ability to walk. An athletic conference is a collection of sports teams, playing competitively against each other in a sports league. In many cases conferences are subdivided into smaller divisions, with the best teams competing at successively higher levels. Conferences often, but not always, include teams from a common geographic region. Australian rules football The AFL Women's competition used a non-geographic conference system in 2019 and 2020. The league was divided into two conferences, based on ladder position in the previous season. 2010 American Indoor Football Association Season
The 2010 American Indoor Football Association season is the league's sixth overall season, and the last before its split and cessation of operations. The regular season began on Saturday, March 6 and ended on Sunday, July 4. The league champion was decided on Sunday, July 25 in the AIFA Championship Bowl IV, where the Baltimore Mariners completed a perfect season by beating the Wyoming Cavalry. 2015 PIFL Season
The 2015 Professional Indoor Football League season was the fourth and last season of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL). The regular season began March 27, 2015, and end on June 20, 2015. Each team played an 11 or 12-game schedule. The top 4 teams in the league advanced to the playoffs that began on June 27, 2015. Pre-season The Erie Explosion joined the league, after playing two seasons in Continental Indoor Football League. The Explosion took the place of the Georgia Fire, who were created by the league to fill the void of the Albany Panthers, who folded in January 2014. The 2014 Professional Indoor Football League season was the third season of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL). The regular season began March 29, 2014, and ended on June 28, 2014. Each team played a 12-game schedule. The top 2 teams in each conference advanced to the playoffs that began on July 5. The final was played July 12, with the Nashville Venom defeating the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks to win their first league championship. Placekicker, or simply kicker (PK or K), is the player in gridiron football who is responsible for the kicking duties of field goals and extra points. In many cases, the placekicker also serves as the team's kickoff specialist or punter. Specialized role The kicker initially was not a specialized role.
