Richmond Kickers Future
Richmond Kickers Future was an American soccer team based in Richmond, Virginia, United States. Founded in 2002 as part of the development system of the Richmond Kickers USL Second Division franchise, the team played in the USL Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, until 2009, when the franchise folded and the team left the league. The team played its home games at Sports Backers Stadium. The team's colors were red, white and black. Sports Backers Stadium is a 3,250-seat stadium in Richmond, Virginia. The facility was opened in 1999. Goal difference, goal differential or points difference is a form of tiebreaker used to rank sport teams which finish on equal points in a league competition. Either "goal difference" or "points difference" is used, depending on whether matches are scored by goals (as in ice hockey and association football) or by points (as in rugby union and basketball). University Of Richmond Stadium
City Stadium is a sports stadium in Richmond, Virginia. It is owned by the City of Richmond and is located south of the Carytown district off the Downtown Expressway. The stadium was built in 1929 and seats approximately 22,000 people when both stands are used. It has been used by the Richmond Kickers of USL League One since 1995, at a capacity of 6,000. The stadium was used by the University of Richmond for American football from 1929 to 2009. The University of Richmond's final home football game at the stadium was played on December 5, 2009, against Appalachian State University in the quarterfinals of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs. Ihor Dotsenko
Ihor Dotsenko (born 29 July 1974) is a retired Ukrainian-American soccer player who spent most of his career in the lower U.S. divisions, but played two games with the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer. He is currently the Technical Director for the Richmond Kickers. Player Dotsenko, a native of Ukraine attended Wake Forest University where he played on the men's soccer team from 1994 to 1997. In 1998, he signed with the Richmond Kickers of the USISL. In the fall of 1998, he signed with the Philadelphia KiXX of the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL). He would play two indoor winter seasons with the KiXX. In 1999, Dotsenko moved to the expansion Lehigh Valley Steam of the USL A-League. The Steam folded at the end of the season and in 2000, Dotsenko joined the Raleigh Capital Express. The Virginia Beach Piranhas were an amateur American soccer team based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States. Founded in 2006 as the Virginia Beach Submariners as part of the development system of the now-defunct USL First Division franchise, the Virginia Beach Mariners, the team played in the USL Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, in the South Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.
