Richie Coughlan
Richard J. Coughlan (born 7 April 1974) is an Irish former professional golfer who played on the European Tour and the PGA Tour. Career In 1997, Coughlan became the first player in history to qualify for the PGA Tour and the European Tour in his rookie season. John E. Morgan duplicated this feat in 2002. Coughlan chose to concentrate on playing in the United States full-time, and finished a career-best 9th at the 1998 B.C. Open, but lost his card at the end of the season. He regained his card for 2001 at the Q-School, but again failed to hold onto it. He last appeared on the Tour in 2003. Coughlan also played on the Nationwide Tour until the end of 2005. Tullamore
Tullamore (; ) is the county town of County Offaly in Republic of Ireland, Ireland. It is on the Grand Canal (Ireland), Grand Canal, in the middle of the county, and is the fourth most populous town in the Midland Region, Ireland, midlands region with 14,607 inhabitants at the 2016 census. 1997 Palmer Cup
The 1997 Palmer Cup was held on July 10–12, 1997 at Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Orlando, Florida. The United States won 19 to 5. Format On Thursday, there were four matches of four-ball in the morning, followed by four foursomes matches in the afternoon. Eight singles matches were played on Friday, and eight more on Saturday.. In all, 24 matches were played. Each of the 24 matches was worth one point in the larger team competition. If a match was all square after the 18th hole, each side earned half a point toward their team total. The team that accumulated at least 12½ points won the competition. Walker Cup
The Walker Cup is a golf trophy contested in odd-numbered years by leading male amateur golfers in two teams: United States, and Great Britain and Ireland. The official name is the Walker Cup Match (not "Matches" as in Ryder Cup Matches). It is organised by The R&A and the United States Golf Association (USGA). In 1921 the Royal Liverpool Golf Club hosted an unofficial contest which was followed by official annual contests from 1922 through 1924. From 1925 they became biennial, held on even-number years. After World War II they switched to odd-numbered years. They are held alternately in the U.S., and Ireland or Britain. The cup is named after George Herbert Walker who was president of the USGA in 1920 when the match was initiated. Walker is the grandfather and namesake of George H. W. The Arnold Palmer Cup is an annual team golf competition for college/university golfers. From 2018 it has been contested between a United States team and an International team representing the rest of the world. The teams consist of 12 men and 12 women. The teams are selected on the basis of nationality, not according to the location of the players' universities.
