Richard Tee
Richard Edward Tee (born Richard Edward Ten Ryk; November 24, 1943 – July 21, 1993) was an American pianist, studio musician, singer and arranger, who had several hundred studio credits and played on such notable hits as "In Your Eyes", " Slip Slidin' Away", " Just the Two of Us", " I'll Be Sweeter Tomorrow (Than I Was Today)", " Crackerbox Palace", "Tell Her About It", " Don't Give Up" and many others. Biography Tee was born in Brooklyn, New York to Edward James Ten Ryk (1886–1963), who was from Guyana, and Helen G. Ford Skeete Ten Ryk (1902–2000), of New York. Tee spent most of his life in Brooklyn and lived with his mother in a brownstone apartment building. Tee graduated from The High School of Music & Art in New York City and attended the Manhattan School of Music. Richard Longstreet Tea
Richard Longstreet Tea (February 20, 1840 – September 14, 1911) was an American soldier who received the Medal of Honor for heroism on April 23, 1875, during the Indian Wars. He was born in Philadelphia in February 1840. He enlisted at Philadelphia on February 1, 1858, just prior to his 18th birthday, with his father approving the enlistment and signing with an "x." He was sent West, where he protected the Pony Express before being sent East to fight in the Rebellion. He was assigned to Battery "B" of the Fourth U. S. Artillery. During the Rebellion, he was wounded at the Battle of Sharpsburg, wounded at the Battle of Spottsylvania, and shot in the abdomen, leg, mouth and stomach. He married Margaret Graham on July 16, 1867, in Junction City, Kansas. They had one child, Annie M., born in 1872. Quincy Delight Jones Jr. (born March 14, 1933) is an American record producer, musician, songwriter, composer, arranger, and film and television producer. His career spans 70 years in the entertainment industry with a record of 80 Grammy Award nominations, 28 Grammys, and a Grammy Legend Award in 1992. Jones came to prominence in the 1950s as a jazz arranger and conductor before working on pop music and film scores. "Tell Her About It" is a song written and performed by Billy Joel released as a single from his album ''An Innocent Man'' (1983). "Crackerbox Palace" is the ninth track on George Harrison's 1976 album, ''Thirty Three & 1/3''. The song was released as the second single from the album and reached number 19 in the American pop charts. History The song was inspired by Harrison's serendipity, serendipitous meeting with George Greif. At the 1975 Midem Music Festival, Harrison remarked to Greif that he resembled the late comedian Lord Buckley, whom Harrison had admired for many years. Greif, who had been Buckley's manager, invited Harrison to Buckley's old Los Angeles home, "Crackerbox Palace". Thinking that the phrase had the makings of a song, Harrison jotted the words "Crackerbox Palace" down on a cigarette pack, and later wrote the song. The song includes references to Greif ("I met a Mr. Greif") and to Lord Buckley ("know that the Lord is well and inside of you").
